Snakes really aren't able to eat people due to the anatomy of humans. Since snakes eat their prey head first (so the arms and legs are pinned down to the body, making it streamlined), most snakes would have a difficult time getting past the shoulders of a human. In fact, the head of a snake would have to be able to expand sideways in order to accommodate a human torso.
