Ok folks Harry Potter 7 Part 2, really isn't Best Picture Material. I agree that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was a dumbass decision but there were better movies than Harry Potter. And some of those movies were nominated.
Where's Gosling? Where's the actors from Hugo? And where the fuck is Leonardo DiCaprio? It's about time that Gary Oldman to finally gets a nod, and I know he'll win. I hope so. I've seen both Moneyball and The Descendants and I think Clooney & Pitt is on their superb performance, so that's reasonable. One of the few disappointments is, who the fuck is the lone Mexican on the list? I bet you've never seen that movie too. You've seen Drive? How is it? EXACTLY!
Michael fassbender, Ryan gosling, Leo dicaprio, Tilda swinton, albert brooks.?I hate the fact that some of the best performances get overlooked every year...I feel winning an oscar has as much prestige as winning a mtv award
IMDB Rating for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: 6.2
IMDB Rating For Iron Lady: 6.2
IMDB Rating for WarHorse: 7.6
IMDB Rating for MoneyBall: 7.8
IMDB Rating for The Descendants: 7.9
And the IMDB Rating for Drive........... 8.1
Seriously, does anyone take the Academy Awards seriously now adays....?? Basically Drive was robbed because "Everyone likes a story about horses", "A film about 9/11 deserves a nomination out of respect" and "Everybody loves George Clooney"......
@CptSpauIding DiCaprio wasn't nominated for playing J. Edgar?????!!!!! HOW THE FUCK DID THE ACADEMY OVERLOOK THAT?????!!!!! I mean for fuck's sake, DiCaprio put his heart into that role. And the film itself didn't get nominated either and it was directed by CLINT MOTHERFUCKING EASTWOOD!!!!!!! And even though I like Jonah Hill, he needs to do a whole lot more amazing roles before I think he is Oscar-worthy. Finally, I'm surprised that none of the cast of Hugo got nominated. FUCK THE ACADEMY!!!!!!
@ENRIQUE881 It is. I don't know why but it does mean something to get an oscar. I guess it has to do with its history. Because in my opinion, in terms of intelligence put into who gets nominated and who wins, it's really the worst award ceremony on Earth. (just the fact that films that were out too early in the year are completely forgotten...) I usually just watch it for the host.
@monos70 Andy Serkis should have got a nomination for Caesar. He gave a better performance than all the cast on that list combined and he did it by. And even though I am glad that Hugo got some nominations, none of the cast got one nomination. Moretz, Kingsley, Butterfield, and even Sacha have more potential than the Academy's choice. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are overrated. The Academy just gets worse every year. Unless the Academy can get new staff that care about more movies, I'm done.
@ENRIQUE881 Yes I have. It's an incredibly bland movie that wants to be "inspiration" there are WAY better movies out there that deserve nominations. 50/50, Drive, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
The Academy seriously needs some new staff. Disappointing choices this year. Okay, not all. At least Hugo is getting some nominations. But there are stars out there that truly deserve awards more than this list. George Clooney????!!!!! Really??????!!!!!! And the films on the list this year are just disappointing. HP 7 and Rise Of The Apes have more heart than half of the films on there. And no nomination for Andy Serkis??????!!!!!! Fuck you Academy. FUCK YOU!!!!!!! My respect is now gone for you
@johnbanks707 HP 7 is not really Oscar material. The story isn't THAT good and there are plenty of flaws with it. I think Hugo and the Artist have more heart that Potter, the reason those movies were made was the cash in. Artist and Hugo were pure passion.
@johnhamilton08 Hugo was so boring! r u kidding me? the only reason why it got the attention was because of the stupid director who made it. The plot had no point to it whatsoever. The Artist on the other hand, looks a little more worthy than any of the movies that were chosen, same with The Help. ...and Harry Potter DOES have passion!
@AngelWitch93 Hugo was a brilliant family film that didn't treat its audience like idiots. Also it was beautiful tribute to the silent movies. Also Scorsese is brilliant. Harry Potter is a decent series but really there's nothing fantastic about it. I like them but really there isn't anything that amazing about them.
@AngelWitch93 you butthurt mongoloid kid, who the fuck are you to call Martin Scorsese a 'stupid director'? Judging by your name you're either a Potter retard or just some geek who fantasize about unicorns and pink glittery skies. If Marty is stupid, how much worse are your idols? You're fucking real artists just to justify your whine about HP not getting recognition. What the fuck is wrong with you? Let's put a fucking bullet hole in your head, see if your wand can do something about it.
@AngelWitch93 Harry potter is ridicioulus, bad story, nothing passion, nothing special to see. Only a comedy. Hugo is a masterpiece, for that reason it got 11 nominations. You have to learn what a movie is
@AngelWitch93 you butthurt mongoloid kid, who the fuck are you to call Martin Scorsese a 'stupid director'? @johnhamilton08 All I am saying is that since HP 7 is the last one, it should have at least got more awards. And Harry Potter does have passion dude. The story revolved around Potter and his friends getting over their fears and doubts and finally taking down Voldemort and his Death Eaters. It had a few flaws, but it was awesome overall. And you're right. Hugo and Artist do have a passion deeper story. It shows just how amazing films were back then and reminds us that these films are true art.
@johnbanks707 Also HP 7 is also a hundred times better and well done than half of these movies on the list. Rotten Tomatoes gave this a 95% fresh rating. Critics kept saying that it was on par with classics like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings! But I guess as long as you make a movie that involves black people in the south or 9/11, no matter how horrible it is, it just has to be best picture material. I didn't expect it to win but dammit it should have been nomed.
@hornytoad1993 you are exagerating man, harry potter will never be a classic like star wards and harry potter. The critics never said that. And it was what the academy thought... and always did.
@johnbanks707 harry otter doesnt have asson at all. The story was really bad told and so fast, So they got what deserved only minors nominations. Altough it was the last one, it doest mean that the academy was forced to give it awards. You are very wrong
@ENRIQUE881 Hey man it's just my opinion. I thought the film as a whole was awesome. I didn't expect it to be in the best picture category, but it should have at least gotten a honorable mention. And I advise you to rewatch the last one. Trust me, it has more passion than you think. And also I think the academy overlooked some major performances and movies this year. they need someone on the staff that actually cares about what films need to be nominated.
@johnbanks707 It sucks that Andy doesn't get squat for playing an animal that captured hearts, but yet Melissa Mccarthy get's a Best Supporting nom for shitting on a bathroom sink! how stupid is that?!!!
@AngelWitch93 ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?????!!!!! The Academy nominated someone for that? I just want to bang my head against the wall for how stupid this is. Serkis got a campaign just to be nominated for an Oscar, but in the end, the Academy rejects it. ARE THEY HIGH?????!!!!! So wait, they nominate Brad Pitt for playing an aging CGI man, but they ignore the guy who perfected motion capture technology????????!!!!!!!! BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!! It's official. The Academy sucks ass.
@johnbanks707 Isn't this world just childish these days? Andy is one of a kind and these bastards who think they know movies are too stuck up to give him the credit he deserves. Melissa McCarthy can be funny at times but she is so not Oscar material and neither is a film like Bridesmaids. My Mom watched it and said it was the worst movie she ever watched. Just hearing her explain about the movie itself was enough to make me not want to watch it at all. I still don't get the hype.
@johnbanks707 I would not agree more with what you said...I means seriously? the Academy has gone nuts...BRIDESMAIDS? MIDNIGHT IN PARIS? GEORGE CLOONEY? give me a break! HP transcends a lot of moral issues that a lot of those movies clearly don't give a damn about...year after year, the Academy's decisions have shown their declining integrity...btw nothing for adapted screenplay at least for the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo?
@MrMCD11 I agree. I mean, come on. ELAIC got a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. And I am fucking sick of George Clooney. Every movie he is in today, he is playing the same character over and over again. The guy has done nothing to impress me and I will never, EVER forgive him for what he did to Batman and did that unholy and ass-raping joke known as the Bat Credit Card. I wish he would just go away and allow new stars to take their shot at the title. Clooney is nothing, but an arrogant asshole!!
Ok folks Harry Potter 7 Part 2, really isn't Best Picture Material. I agree that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was a dumbass decision but there were better movies than Harry Potter. And some of those movies were nominated.

the oscars are always retarded. You don't nominate viggo mortensen in supporting role but you do jonah hill ? DiCaprio not nominated either.
Hugo was a good movie but scorsese has done insanely better pictures that weren't even nominated once.
Haven't seen the help, the artist, etc so I can't say.
