The problem I have with some Post-Rock is that the song never starts out correctly, in my opinion. It usually has a bumpy start, and has to pick itself up after awhile. This song wasn't really like that, though. It kept itself to the point the whole way through.
Props to them for that, there's only two other Post-Rock bands I listen to that can successfully do that.
Yeah, it's really an annoying trend. I'd much rather hear 3 to 6 minute songs instead of 4-10+ that go nowhere for too long. Two bands you might like: If these trees could talk & God is an Astronaut" Those 2 usually get going and keep going :]
@Grunvagr i prefer bands that have longer songs. it usually means theyre not worried about time constraints and they have plenty of time to let the song grow and breathe, instead of cutting it down to 4 minutes, which kind of gives it a "by the book" feeling. thats why i cant get into this band. although God is an Astronaut does it very well.
@alex93metallica being a metalhead just means that you prefer metal over any other genre. why do people think that if you like metal you cant listen to other genres?
