I think the entire game is brilliant except for one thing: passing. I played the demo and the passing system feels super clunky, having to pick between receivers vs. the madden system. Everything else is super ballin'.

@wwegamer83 backbreaker doesn't have the roster because in 2005, EA bought exclusive rights to all NFL video game licensing. Remember ESPN NFL 2K5? probably not. it was better than madden, and for only 20 bucks. EA's stance? "if you can't beat them, screw them over and kill their business." But there are still good football games now. and i can't wait till EA loses the NFL rights. We need more games like the OG NFL Blitz.
@jd757xy if i'm right it was a 10 year deal. which means it runs out at madden 15, in 2014. don't take my word for it, though. i havent looked into the situation in a bit. but i still can't wait.

I would like to play both games together side by side and see which one is really the better buy. Backbreaker looks to cartoonish, while Madden looks realistic. Madden has terrible tackle animations and choppy movement while Backbreaker looks insanely smooth and tackles are crazy good. Things that make a key game are in both games but they should put both games together to bet a game thats totally unbelievable!

I have one problem with this game. The ball carrier never runs through the defender. The defender always has the momentum and makes the tackle. Not once have I seen the ball carrier just run a defender over.
It's not about the god damned graphics. And another thing, big deal if you don't get to play as the big times? Madden has that. This is if you don't just want to play another Madden. That's the POINT of this game is to have a separate experience, so please... Take your fail and get out.

Madden is far from realistic, time frame issues during tackling, unrealistic physics where momentum will be carrying a player towards the ground and they will magically deliver a big hit, and then speed burst issues when a reciever is to far to make a catch and then out of nowhere gets aburst of speed to make the catch... And to top it off Madden signed an exclusive contract which hurts the whole damn market so it pisses off football fans.

I have one problem with this game. The ball carrier never runs through the defender. The defender always has the momentum and makes the tackle. Not once have I seen the ball carrier just run a defender over.

Madden is the most arcade-ish game. Next gen? Definitely not. Please don't make the NFL License just for EA and allow other companies to make a better football game, and maybe bring a fucking decent port to the PC! Madden is casual, but some of us want REALISTIC football. Madden 06 was bad with Mike Vick, outrunning LB's and the Safeties just to throw an 80yrd TD, like, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME CUNT.

We Madden dicks are on here because we keep hearing how realistic this bullshit is..QB throwing perfect passes off wrong foot, no refs, no commentary, glowing WR's, and football, (and for those who say you can turn it off) i have not seen a video yet with this feature "OFF"...no one on the sidelines, 8 tier stadiums, I guess this is real football......somewhere other than the United States.

Madden is far from realistic, time frame issues during tackling, unrealistic physics where momentum will be carrying a player towards the ground and they will magically deliver a big hit, and then speed burst issues when a reciever is to far to make a catch and then out of nowhere gets aburst of speed to make the catch... And to top it off Madden signed an exclusive contract which hurts the whole damn market so it pisses off football fans.
