As a film-maker/martial artist and having had to do complicated choreography more than once, I totally appreciate all of the hard work you guys do. You're tremendously entertaining and I love following your work (both amatuer and professional). Keep it up!
HEY SAM! nice fight scene by the way. you and lateef are my favorites. i highly respect the both of you. i even hope that my team can do a collab. shortfilm with you guys. and lateef puts my capoeira to shame! but you guys rock! whenever you guys need a hand or a new member, contact me. thank you, Darin Hicks, Founder
Thanks so much for posting this. I'm sure running off practically no sleep was a big factor (been there). But it's nice to see the amount of effort and takes that go into filming "short" fight scenes. It really makes me appreciate the final product a lot more once I see what goes on behind the scenes.
Thanks for sharing your hard work and talent with the world =D Definitely looking forward to more work!
Thank you everyone. Yes we all make mistakes and we learn from it. Remembering choreography at full speed after 24hr of no sleep is a challenge. There is a list of projects I've done over the years that is not independent and its on IMDB "dot" com. Thank you!
you guy are still awesome. do you guys come around Seattle at all? i live on an island about 3 hours north of seattle called san juan island. I am a huge fan. lateef is an inspiration for me. no offense to the rest of you. i'm a capoeirista. i work with a stunt man here that says he has worked with you before. Ken clark. well please write back if you can. bye
@11984cross yo cross this is Darin Hicks, im a capoeirista and stunt man for the High Arch Stunt Team. it's great to know that lateef, larry, aaron, and I aren't the only capoeira Stunt Men.
@HighArchStuntTeam Well I'm not a stunt man, though i think it would be an awesome job. the stuntman i work with is not a capoeirista. what have you been in? if you are ever around seattle let me know. i live on an island about two hours north of it i am trying to get people on the island involved in capoeira. i am one of a few capoeiristas here. and i have been trying to teach basics to the rest.
@11984cross we have one video up as of now, but it was just a practice thing. just subscribe to our channel and you can add us on facebook. or follow us on twitter @HighArchStunts.
we would love for you to start your own division up in seattle.-Darin Hicks, Capoeirista/stunt performer
This fight has been one of my faves for awhile. ZG inspired our group, A Thousand Pounds, to start making our own stuff. We've seen Lateef at White Lotus Gym, working hard as always. If you get a chance, check out RivenX3i's channel. We did the Street Fighter: Beginnings End video that brought some attention to our group. If we ever get a chance to meet and work on something, A Thousand Pounds couldn't ask for more. Thanks, Sam!
This is awesome. Thanks for posting, Sam. It's great to see that yes, you guys actually are human ;)
I know you're all crazy busy and finding lots of well deserved success, but don't stop making independent films! You're an inspiration to all us guys still trying to break through.
Thank you everyone. "eagleclaw006" I don't know about our careers taking off. We are blessed. The rest of ZG are doing well too, everyone is just doing their own thing and have different paths.
