  • I would just like to point out that now his car is sitting on the track..... bummer. Probably stopped the whole event for a long time.

  • Yea lets engage the e braje dont want the car to wonder off!! Thats a bad day....

  • Poor RX7.... But that was a good footage. Thanks.

  • It needs more Low.

  • roflmao

  • haha.

  • i agree with saygmo. if your gonna be racing it check the lugs before you drive it. ever go to drivers ed? they teach you to do that.

  • This shiet happened to me today. The passenger side front wheel came off about 2 miles away from the tyre shop I've changed my two fronts, I had my own tyres so it was a £5 each job so never asked for the receipt, what a twat, can't sue him now as have no proof of his job, or still can? Damage to the car: tyre, alloy, wheel hub, probably bearing, wheel arch lining, wheel arch plastic trim, side wing, spigot ring. No injured, managed to safely park on someones driveway avoiding all the cars on a

  • was the parking brake necessary at that point

  • 0 wheel drive

  • Man that sucks. Hate to see a FD get damaged. Sad day that day.

  • If your not smart enough to recognize cross threading and a loose rim, you are definitely not smart enough to drive a race car with slicks!

  • did you film this yourself

  • Those enkies must be his track set. He probably just tightened them before his lap using different light nuts

  • "LEFTY tighty, RIGHTY loosey... wait... is that right?"

  • i'd sue the shit out of the company that send the wrong lugs

  • crazy glue would have lasted longer than that.

  • Yardsale!!

  • Man looks like someone sabotaged ur shit, that dont happen

  • haha i laughed so hard when i saw this

  • Lawsuit please

  • just too much boost car was so fast it blew its wheels clean off

  • ...this fxxxxing idiot needs to be killed....

...poor car. I hope it has now another owner... :-(

  • I wonder who did that in not screwing the nuts onto the bolts !! Thsi mechanic must be a stupid idiot !!!

  • AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH HAHAHHAHAHAHAH HHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA oh my god thats fucking great

  • 60-0 in 0 Seconds! WOW!

  • My FD has fallen and it can't get up!

  • I like how he remembered to engage his emergency brake.

  • Nice RPF1s though...

  • haha i remember at my first autox event this year i was hoping for two things

    1. dont get lost (i did)

    2. please dont let this happen hahaa

  • PAHAHAHAHAHA

    RETARDDDDDDDD

  • needed a bigger turbo

  • amazing! now from 60-0 mph braking is just a second away by ejecting all wheels!

  • The description on this video doesn't make sense. "someone sent him the wrong lug nuts with the wrong threading" and this guy still felt compelled to put it on!? I mean, if it was the wrong thread pitch, it would be pretty damn hard to put those lugs on keep in mind also stripping the threads in the process. The guy deserves that outcome in my opinion for his negligence and massive fail in common sense.

  • im going going (does slight drift) yaaaaa ( wheels pop off) aaaaaaaaaaaah crap

  • gonna drive this thing till the wheels fall off!

  • @FalconPunch1978 Do you really gotta post the same comment on every duplicate of this video?

  • @TRIBALIZIED yes

  • What airline mechanics do: after torquing the nuts, take a marker and draw a straight line on the wheel and the nut. You can immediately see if it has loosened.

  • @straightpipediesel Good tip, thanks for sharing that. I need to try that.

  • That used to be a nice FD, wonder how much damage was done. Cant help but laugh though, its like there was a wheel ejection button in the car. LOL

  • lol at the fact that he still puts up the e-brake

  • @SuperCereal90 LMAO good observation! Thats awesome, would want the car to roll away!

  • @FalconPunch1978 wouldnt *

  • That's why the orgonizers MUST do tech inspections before letting people run. As the video shows, people do forget to do simple things like, TIGHTEN THE FING LUG NUTS.

  • ワラタ

  • fuck.. that.. poor dude:P make sure i check my wheel nuts more often on my rx

  • this is great safety feature for all Toyota ;)

  • @Devastationable rx-7's arent toyotas dumbass

  • NOW THATS LOW

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • effing aye

  • 奇跡だw

  • that's what you get for wearing those shoes with shorts!what a fuckin dumbass.messed up one of the most advanced Japanese cars of the 90's.

  • they set him up for that the wheels just fall off not 1 not 2 but all four yeah funny but f ed up

  • FFFFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!

  • Love the passionate ignorance in some comments it's truly amazing how dumb people can truly be.....

  • ha i could not stop loling

  • This is painful to watch it fall off

  • MADE IN CHINA !

  • @jaahut worked on by dumb americans on a dumb american car.

  • American car? Its japanese.Leave it to U-tube to bring out racism.

BTW:Looks like an O/E problem to me.

  • Comment removed

  • someone didnt like him...

  • hahaaaaaa

  • i'd be sooo embarrassed if i were him LOL wow

  • WHAT AN IDEA

  • Maybe spend less time worrying about finding matching pimp red driving shoes.

Terrible way to learn a lesson. All bolts/nuts have a thread pitch. When you try to put a nut on a bolt with mismatched pitch, you can easily tell...BUT, you have to experience it to learn it. First clue should have been when the lug nut only went on 1/2 turn before binding up in the mismatched threads. For the wheels to come off that quickly, those lug nuts HAD to be barely on. Hang in there, we all mess up.

  • @JeffInDFW Wow man, I know this is like a 4 month comment, but this is dumb... obviously incorrect pitch wouldn't work, but you would know as soon as the car was down if stupid enough to not realize the lug wasn't on all the way. I remember a friend of mine that was there telling me what actually happened...

  • @speedklix Lug nuts given to this guy were correct thread, but the ID was 1 mm too big. His race set torqued down and drove perfectly fine around the grid area, as soon as he got on it however, they popped right off the threads... he drove this car home with not much more than a few scraps if I remember correctly. So in this guys defense, it isn't his fault if someone passed the incorrect hardware to him and his precision tool (torque wrench) indicated all was well.

  • @speedklix

And the guy you're raggin on looks like a by-stander with a set of relatively lower cost Simpson racing shoes... and lets face it, unless you get black, they all look weird. I'm gonna take a wild guess that you're some ricer who has fuggerd up a set of rims/studs at some point :)

  • @JeffInDFW it's SCCA, not some amateur hour parking lot street race. he's even on R-comp tires. He HAD to have been skilled. we all make mistakes, no need to grill him.

  • @hatejapanesecars Are you shitting me? Re-read what I wrote. "Hang in there, we all mess up." That is "GRILLING HIM"?!?!

  • he's laying rail yo!

  • dam some nice rpf1's just went by by

  • How did that pass tech?

  • Lefty loosie .. Righty tighty.... "Whe're shy one!!" LOL

  • i tell ya . When I am havin abad day i watch this and my day isnt so bad after all. Thats just hilarious. I'd hate to be the guy answering that call from the place who sold those lug nuts. Again if ya that much of hy-po racer ya should have dbl chkd. just cause they are tight.. ya know?

  • wtf..so funny XD

  • brilliant hahahahaha

  • looks faked, no way someone is stupid enough to put on all four tires wrong.

  • OK you can hear him say in the video that they were the wrong size. Right after the guy asks who the driver was...right at about 1:00.

An Unfortunate Mistake, to say the least.

  • thank GOD the driver put the hand brake on, we wouldnt want the car to go anywhere.......

  • LOL

  • his friends call him lugnut!!!!

  • i feel bad for laughing

  • poor guy

  • Those Enkeis are so light.... they float!

  • new way to stop fast, eject the wheels off.

  • hahah very true mazda should incorporate this in 2011 models

  • I mean, all 4 at once, lmfao... Thats freaking comedy.

  • I watched this happen, he had bought new lugs, even torqued them properly. Went through tech, and then the lateral force stripped the threads right off. The guy hasn't come back but we wish he would. This could happen to anyone.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Happen to anyone? Thats the stupidest thing ive heard in a while. I feel for the guy but as someone who has broken everything in the powertrain in the quest for speed both on and off the track, the lugs are the one thing I have NOT broken.

Snapped axles, ripped tires free, exploded clutches, thrown rods, etc...

NEVER EVER HAD THIS ISSUE! lmfao

  • Its not impossible, I've had this happen to me (only on wheel) and 2 of the 4 bolts held thank god, but my wheel had some serious negative camber and I had a bent rotor and destroyed wheelbearings. It can happen to anyone, bad batch for the bolts, old/over torqued specs so many variables on this.

  • @racevidfreak ...just confirmed my new lugs the other day because of this video! No one would otherwise ever confirm the actual measuements for nuts that even bolt on properly... funny soo many claim otherwise.

  • NOoooooo!

i smirked for about 3 seconds, but that seriously sucks!

  • Hmm, I remember hearing it was some china studs that he bought that caused that, not the lug nuts...if u notice the rear left side rotor has no studs left, like it just broke off

  • ah brake pads are fine, stick the wheels back on

  • after reading the description you have to be pretty stupid not to feel the difference between right and wrong lug nuts. this person obviously doesn't deserve to work on his own car. first off why did he need new lug nuts anyways did he change out the studs or something?

  • Factory wheels often use different lug nuts than aftermarket wheels. Has nothing to do with the thread of the stud but rather the mating surface between the wheel and the nut.

  • EPIC FAIL

  • LOL

  • I don't think you still need the parking brake on, I'm pretty sure you car ain't going nowhere.

  • I noticed that too, it gave me a good chuckle.

  • "hunny you had one thing to do... CHECK THE TORQUE ON THE LUGNUTS!!!"

  • lmao.

  • ha ha shit cunt

  • sucks so much for him

  • noob

  • "wrong threading" you think you would of known that when you started installing the nuts !

    Dip SHIT !

  • i second that

  • haha

  • Leave it there. It looks like another orange cone.

  • lol i love it he put the e brake up so it dosent roll away lmao dont think its goin anywhere champ

  • LOL

the pitcrew's gonna get a big award for doing such a great job

  • Hahahaha.... I remember that guy. It's not that some one sent him the wrong lugs, he was braggining to us how he got a full set of lugs from eBay for $40. Everyone was like "Uhhh, dudue do you think it's a good idea to run a set of lets that you got for $40 from eBay?" and he was like "Y'all just jealous that I got them so cheap."

  • Pit crew = fail.

  • Good job at using the torque wrench there tex.

  • Common guys, he just wanted to save some unsprung weight!

BTW, i see an E30 at the start...

  • LOL!

  • LOL!

  • LOL that was funny as fuck. lone how 2 titan the lognute be4 u go out dip shit. LOL LOL LOL

  • Wrong thread? How many different lug sizes are there? I be the forgot to put lugs on while swapping out his street tires for these.facepalm.jpg

  • why an fd why not a mini or somthing?

  • Listen all y'all it's SABOTAGE!

  • thats what you get dumbass. you were not ment to drive an RX7

  • to much hp. i think he over powered the wheels.

  • whoever put those wheels on is an idiot. If they were the wrong lug nuts, you should have noticed. Theres no way they held the proper torque then just fell off.

  • sabotage!!!

  • It happened bc the lug nuts where the wrong size. They were too big, close enough that they grabbed the outside edge of the threads but clearly once lateral pressure was on the car they failed.

Made for a great video though.

    Epic FAIL

  • I'm starting to think this thing didn't even have lug nuts on it...or maybe just a few, hand-tight. It's just odd that all 4 failed at the same time. That kinda stuff rarely happens by accident.

  • epic fail XD

  • SABOTAGE......

  • that was and is fucking hilarious and tragic all in 1

  • I'm not sure I understand how lug nuts caused this. Were the threads wrong? Or maybe the rim & the nuts didn't match? Anyway, that's a damn shame. Awesome awesome car. I wish they'd bring it back, even for just a limited-edition re-run. Even by today's standards, that car still looks stunning.

  • racing tires + positive offset racing wheels+ high cornering forces+ old,(maybe), STOCK studs... get the picture?

  • NOOOOOOOO!!!! :S they don't make fd's anymore & its a shame to see one come apart like that.

  • this is fucking hilarious

  • ive actually seen that happen before. sometimes its not the wrong lugs at all but they actually heat up to much and expand losing their grip. this can happen for several reasons but if it was the wrong ones to start with i would sue the shit out of the company.

  • may not be the companys fault, companies like tsw, wolfrace, bk racing etc have a big panflet in the boxes the wheels come in clearly stating that the nuts/bolts should be compired withe the oe ones and then put on the hub by hand with no wheel on to make sure they go on ok, its not often the wheel companies fault, more often its the retailer that sells them that causes all this greif

  • I would hope that the company that sent the wrong lug nuts would pay for the dammage to the car.

  • owned

  • I would sue!

  • tire rack

  • oh.. my baby.

  • poor car =[

err your def gona need a new set of brakes o.o

  • Go get the company that sent the wrong parts!

  • nice job tightening those lug nuts boys.

    lol.

  • How the hell did you not check the tightness of the goddamn nuts?!

They must be on crack or something. =/

  • How the hell did you not read the video description of the goddamn video?!

You must be on crack or something. =/

  • It's not that he didn't tighten the lug nuts enough, he got the wrong type of lug nuts or someone sent him the wrong ones and he didn't check. Same thing will happen if you put aftermarket lug nuts on stock wheels, so be careful.

  • you, sir, are a fucking idiot.

    reading > you.

quit the internet before you hurt yourself.

  • that was in reply to the fucktard who mentioned checking the tightness of the lugs.

i feel sorry for the driver/owner.. this happened to me a few days ago. (one wheel, only)

  • HAHA you dipshit....YOU SIR!! who the fuck talks like that? Did you have on white gloves and an eyeglass in your eye when you typed this? 1700s english snark FTL!

  • i gotta check on my nuts from now on.

  • Same thing. The next thought I don't want to see is one of my wheels going past me in my mirror.

  • i hate wrecking cars is a felling so gay

  • I Can't believe a RX-7 ran long enough for the wheels to fall off.

  • hahaha...harsh

  • lol waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhaaaaaahhaaaaa

after seeing this I ALWAYS CHECK MY LUGNUTS ON MY RX-7

  • Yeah could be worse I guess.

  • LMFAO! haha now thats what i call SLAMMED oh man...thats gotta suck poor guy hope he car didnt get messed up too bad

  • I'm thinking the exhaust, brakes and suspension at least are pretty fucked.

  • Well, at least he didn't blow the motor.

  • Ok, now if you put the wrong lugs on, MOST are going to think "derr, hey that's not tightening down right, must be the wrong set". If you aren;t one of them, please give me your car and return your license.

  • +1, they're either going to be loose as hell or not fit at all. I wouldn't even want that car. That guy sure did ruin race day. I bet everyone was pissed. Wonder how the driver felt... probably like a 100% Certified Jackass lol....

  • For sure! I'm like, yeah I do feel bad for him cuz we all screw up I guess, but come on... They are the most important bolts on the car. I mean how'd that pass tech?

  • Family Guy's in the video tags. So, what? Was this one of Peter Griffin's flashbacks? "Brian, remember the time when I drove an RX-7 with the wrong lug nuts?"

  • EPIC FAIL

  • i mean that is unlucky to have 1 fall off but all 4 get out of here lol poor dude

  • wow,

that sucks. hw has sure gotten a lot of youtube views though!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahalolololololololololololololololol, that was fucken funny!!!!!!

  • thats a very expensive mistake!

  • That looks like it is embarrassing.

  • I would be PISSED

  • good point, but i dont think anyone would do that do their car!!! You'd have to be 1 dumb fother mucker.

  • It is not staged. If you notice the front wheels break loose when he applies the brakes, once he starts to turn; the lateral loads on the lug nuts strip the threads, starting with the inside wheels, the car pitches counter clockwise and load the outer wheel, and those lugs strip also.

If you put the wrong thread lug nuts on your car, stripping theading as you tighten them down, and then apply a lateral load this is exactly what will happen to you.

  • now he know what his car will look like "slammed"

  • ouch!
