  • I think Rick Berman should allowed Blood and Fire to air. How could we accept Aliens with out Accepting Lesiban and Gay Bi Transgender here on Earth. Its what Star Trek is all about learning to Jusfy other Cultures. We are all human and its the Christians are all about too.

  • Wow, I've seen the whole episode numerous times but never seen the clip above ... wow, if I didn't know anything about STNV I'd STILL want to see this ... amazing!

  • Star Trek was all about 'infinite diversity in infinite combinations' - this story was originally written by David Gerrold for ST:TNG but PARAMOUNT was not ready to go with this - GENE wanted it! It is not any more blatant than anything you watch on TV, more a 'love story' than sex. However, please stick around ... there's more great stories coming ... two more already in the can to be released within the year! Glad you like it better than TNG! :)

  • interesting. seems like they went for the tone of the 60s network show and in an odd way has surpassed TNG, DS9 and other spin offs..

  • at the risk of sounding blasphemous, this looks better than the original series

  • It's probably important to point out that on the official forum it's made clear that this trailer was made by somebody who wanted to make it sort of like the latest movie trailer. So unless I'm reading that wrong, this isn't an official BAF trailer. So I wouldn't worry about it not being TOS-ey enough.

    It is nifty, though! :)

  • STAR TREK LIVES!

  • he's not human! he's JAMES T KIRK!

    LOL

  • "but in the spirit of TOS: it could never have been."

Why not? Famous interracial KISS among other things. The sky was the limit.

  • You're right about the kiss; for network television at the time it was daring. But to now incorporate elements not even a Trek series of the '00's would dare is stretching it a bit too far. One could argue that a series like Phase 2 is like a Trek series Gene would have made if he was not limited by budgetory or network censorship limitations, but why not go for a high-tech bridge or equipement then?? It seems very contradictory to emulate TOS in set dressing ONLY, and ignore everything else.

  • Keep in mind that no one on this show gets paid for their work... and they have a very small budget to work with. I think they've done a hell of a job with what they have.

  • "It seems very contradictory to emulate TOS in set dressing ONLY, and ignore everything else"

How would the gay kiss constitute as "ignoring everything else?"

  • (And 3#) Also daily the mass media saturates us with news about violence, famine and terrorism. Believing in a future better than the present neo-medieval which we live is NOT a dream, it is a hope and BAF is the incarnation of this hope.

  • And 2)The original BAF script was rejected in the 80's because it raised a dash taboo in our society, AIDS. I think it'll be a Webisode that will again return to the ideals of ST: sensitizing the society and given hope to open us twds a better future. If ST has been differentiated from other sci-fi sagas is for its optimism and a high ethics that is seen in every episode and that was losing lately with the latest productions.

  • IMHO, STNV (and other fanfilms) with his career throughout these years have helped keep alive the spirit of Gene Roddenberry. For a generation that has grown with the CGI-generated SFX it will not have anything to do with the spectacle of the mamooth prods but what's of priceless is the big labor-of-love behind this project made by its crew&cast.

  • Corosa,

The actual episode itself is strictly TOS 60's era Trek... I just wanted to try something different for this Trailer. I actually have another version with TOS music, which is also cool, but it hasn't been posted yet. The audio used in this trailer is not the full mixed version... it will be re-posted later with a better mix. Remember the first Star Wars trailer had battleship red alert sounds, and the lightsabres didn't glow!! -bqk

  • STP2 formerly STNV has raised the bar with each episode successfully. Their lastest full episode with George Takei was unbelievably good. This, with David Gerrolds writing and directing could surpass that. Kudos! I am a fan and will be watching!

  • Good music! I also like the hand-PHASER effects.

  • A Way cool trailer, I for one am looking forward to see this. ST:P2 Rocks!

  • Brian Q. Kelley is a MASTERFUL editor! FANTASTIC job Mr. Kelley!!!

  • Thanks for the compliment!!

  • What an awesome trailer. Not only was it compelling, almost mouth-watering, but they even put one of my Transporter shots into it! I'm jazzed!

Thanks to James Cawley, Joel Bellucci, and Brian Kelley. I'm proud to be a part of your team!

  • Great trailer! Now they just need to release the episode! lol

  • And for those of us who are stuck on dial-up? :)

It needs to be available to DL, if I'm going to be able to grab it. :-\

  • Yay! Go Bobby Rice!

  • Great job... Now I have to wait until Dec. 20th....
