I've never said I was in the 'states', and I'm pretty sure I don't sound like I'm from the 'states' either ;)

Here in Australia I can buy a prepaid sim from any carrier from the local newsagent or corner shop prettymuch - there's no carrier restrictions here and that's the way we like it.

no ! in my country(Serbia) its 288 MB :P 32A models have 288 and 32B have 192 ;)

All the HTC Magic's out of Hong Kong have 288MB apparently, even the vodafone ones.

Mine is a Taiwan-sourced HTC Magic with 288MB ram.

In Australia vodafone sell the crippled 192MB ram version, while Three mobile sell the 288MB ones.

well...this phone has all the features that the Iphone has, just a bit slower and the video quality is not as good as the Iphone...but it's cheaper and i like customize your own stuff such as wall paper which the Iphone doesn't have and the back of the phone, etc...oh and also Iphone is just ridiculously exspensive....so if i had to choose between Mytouch3G and the Iphone 3GS i rather the the Mytouch 3G.

Actually, consider the Rogers version (HTC Magic w/rogers branding).

It has 288MB of RAM (vs iPhone 3GS 256) and has a 528MHz processor (Slower than 3GS, faster then 3G).

it also has a better camera (3.2MP)

how come the keys are bigger, and not like cupcake?? this a updates over 1.5?

This is the new HTC keyboard that comes standard with the HERO roms. It's also possible to install it on top of cupcake too.

The keys are a little bigger, and have secondary actions - so it's easier to get to numbers and punctuation without switching keyboard states.

Some models have 288MB ram, some have only 192MB ram. From what I've seen it tends to be the branded models (ie. Vodafone/TIM/Google, etc) that have only 192MB ram.

The HK/Asia Pacific ones all seem to have 288MB ram.

If you browse the HTC website and look at the specifications of each model in different countries you can see this - it's quite annoying that they would screw with customers like this IMHO.
