I was front passenger in the red and silver car and the ridge that is not in the video is the reason why we didnt see the orange car. As he came over the ridge, he was in a wheelie, our driver swerved as much as he could but only had 2 or 3 seconds to react. the video makes it look like we werent paying attention and thats not it at all. You can all post what you "think" but you were'nt in the car so you dont see the ridge in the video that the orange car came up while in a wheelie being blind.

There is also a slight blind spot (ridge) that the orange rail had just come over exactly 10 seconds into the video I have a feeling the white car couldn't see over it and see him coming at him until the last second.

My brother-in-law was in a similar, but much worse, incident a few years ago. He had just taken my rookie friend for a ride and was just coasting down the hill when an idiot doing a wheelie t-boned them and sent my friend to the hospital!

That is why NO ONE SHOULD EVER GO SIDEWAYS ON THE HILL!!! It doesn't matter if you have spotters or radios. Obviously radios didn't keep this from happening, did it? There's a good reason all the tracks go up and down the hill. You can't expect to know what everyone else is going to do so if you just go straight up and down, you only have to worry about what's in front of you (like it should be). Don't be stupid, keep the dunes open!

2) it is harder for a buggy to turn uphill than downhill, especially without being in the throttle Even if he came to a complete stop he would have been hit by the orange rail. Last, wheeling across the hill on a busy weekend is the worse idea in the world. I am certain this wouldn't have happened if the orange buggies front tires were on the ground. Only way he was steering was with cutting brakes so in my opinion he was out of control.
