You think you have a plugged cat and you are beating on the car? Brilliant. Get a heat gun and check the cat for some serious heat variations before and after.
@djsanchez2 How am I beating on the car? I'm simply driving it trying to figure out what the problem is...
Don't have money to buy a heat gun, otherwise, that's a good idea. Would certainly be a handy tool to have around.
Anyway, the problem ended up being a ripped intake hose (post MAF). All that extra unaccounted for air into the engine caused it to do quirky things, like lurch.
Better yet, get a scanner and see for sure whats going on.
