i have the 2011 gnu carbon credit btx board and i like to do jibs, just ride the mountain but i also like to do jumps, maybe some 360's off 20 footers and maybe a grab off a 30 but can my board do that stuff? thanks
I'm 5'7 and 140 pounds. What size board would work best you think. I like to play around on the mountain and hit rails and boxes but also want a board that will float well in pow. Also, how would you compare the trs with it in terms of flex, speed, and pow riding?
@tilleybrdr90 I would say get a 153. The TRS is a little stiffer. The GNU has extruded bases so in terms of speed the TnT Sintered base material on the TRS is going to be faster. The TRS is also going to be more responsive thank to the C2BTX. As for powder riding I thinks its going to be a wash as they will both work great.
how much stiffer is the wide version over and above the normal version?
I have a size 9 boot, but am riding getting over a back injury. My old burton is just way too stiff and has no shock absorption at all. i am thinking that if I have to put less effort into the board that I can last longer on the slopes.
last year because of my long term injury I only got riding 2 out of my 7 days before my back stressed out and went bad. Want to change so I can get a less stiff, easier board.
@jonnyweston Work that core, that is the best thing you can do for you back. I got some back issues myself... but if you are looking for a softer board with mag i would take a look at the rossignol one magtek with amptek, supper sick board with all the bells and whistles
Hey! Quick question. I'm looking at the 2011 GNU Carbon Credit, and their website lists it having a flex of 6. Even though that is kinda stiff for a jib board, because its a reverse camber board, will I still be able to butter around the mountain?
Should i go with the forum youngblood chillydog or the gnu carbon credit btx. I spend most of my time in the park but sometimes go on groomers. Im riding on the east coast so it gets icy. Which board should i get?
Beginner-intermediate rider here, with about 20 days on the snow over the last 3 years. Prefer riding in bounds off piste, natural terrain, and general all mountain stuff. Play a bit in the park, mostly on the kickers, but not a big fan of rails. 190cm (6'2") and 75-80kg, size 11 boot.
Could you give me your thoughts on the 2011 Skate Banana vs the 2011 Carbon credit, looking to combine these with most likely the Union Forces (your thoughts on that would be great too, thanks).
im going to buy this. is this it good flex? like the lib tech skate banana boards? or sum? i kinda want to know what kinda flex it has and such before i buy it. but has flex anything to say, if u are like doing jumps, and grinds?
@TheGibsonSG96 The Carbon Credit is a great board. I would highly recommend sticking with that one. It won a Good Wood award this year so you know they did something right with it. With both the Carbon Credit and the Skate Banana the flex will depend on the size, but over all I would say the Carbon Credit is around a 5 and the Skate Banana is more like a 4. Flex plays a big part in riding especially for rails, but these boards are close enough I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor.
@thehouseboardshop hey again! ;) i just bought. Havent tried it yet, but while im waiting for more snow, it looks , and feels very good( yeah i tried it in my house :P )
@tacblock21 Of those boards, the best one is the Lib TRS, but it is at least $150 more expensive than the other two. The best board for the best price would be the GNU Carbon Credit. It got a Good Wood award this year and is still made by Mervin (company that makes Lib) so it has a lot of the same tech in it.
@mcebro07 Banana Traction is Magne-Traction edges with a Banana rocker camber (or reverse camber). Magne-Traction edges look like a wavy line. They have seven bumps on each side giving your board seven contact points with the snow rather than the regular two. These extra contact points give you incredible grip on hard pack snow and ice. Never buy a board without Magne-Traction it's amazing. And rocker boards are generally better for pressing on rails, riding pow and reduce catching your edges
@ballinsk8 No, not really. You can definitely tell when it is going to work to give you extra grip in hard pack stuff. But on like rails, or just riding in normal conditions you won't even know anything is different.
The board will crush it in the park or anywhere on the mountain. If you were looking at a lot of natural terrain (and higher speeds) the slightly firmer flex of the Skate Banana or Riders Choice might be worth checking out!
get this man a glass of water!!!

I bought a used bored and i brang it out for a run. I had to tighten the bindings about 10 times. Do you think that the board is stripped?
greendayftw123 1 year ago
@greendayftw123 no i do not, i had the same issue with my lib tech, I just used a little more torch and some loctite and my issue was solved
