I dont know what song i'd prefer in this play. The're all so good. In this video he has a great voice, but actually he has a great voice in every song. We'll may be preforming songs for a new world in a year or two. i don't think we can do it as good as this.
one more comment. haha. At the part where they come together for the last duet. I like how one is not stronger than the other and they match each other well...thats the problem i am having with my partner.
Well, the camera was hand held, closer to the piano than to the singers, and not at all connected to any sound equipment, so it was just picking up whatever it heard. The accompaniment volume issue is actually a problem of the recording, not so much of the production itself.

I just want to give a BIG shout out to the guy playing the piano on all these pieces. I have been an accompanist (and singer) for many a MDT major and that is hard as it is (enjoyable also). On top of all that drama JRB's pieces are incredibly hard. So kudos to you. Really I am amazed at how well your play, can follow the singers, and make it sound so effortless. You are very talented!

At the end, I can see a connection, but this woman's husband was convicted of a murder he didn't commit and is now being put to death. Lay it on. It's an incredibly emotional piece. Great, great talent, honestly. Great to watch. I'm extremely dedicated to the Leo Frank affair and it was good to see this version. Thanks for posting this!

Allright, good voices. But if you want to use my advice, don't play to the audience. This song is just for you and for Lucille. Be close to eachother, look deep into her eyes. Tell her with tears in your eyes that you are overwelmed by her love. How could I NOT be in love with you. You only have eyes for her..
Wow, definitely had me crying (though in all fairness it doesn't take much for this song to make me cry.) But I do miss the gorgeous, gorgeous ending to this piece--understand why you couldn't use it though. :D
Really nice vocal performance(major kudos to Leo for holding that last F), you both have great voices. But you know the piece? The acting was a little lacking; I think it's mostly attributed to the blocking. The acting really picked up in the last verse, though...the only real problem I had was that you didn't do the extended ending, it's beautiful. But then, this was probably a vocal showcase and it wouldn't make sense to just have you two standing there while the band played for another 90 sec
You're right- the short ending feels abrupt musically, but our program had no context to justify the long ending. Wish we could've fine-tuned this one a bit more... but at least our singers' vocals were solid.
Great work! I worked on the world premier in Toronto and well remember Brent singing this for the 1st time, you guys did a super job!
