  • Much as I like George Harrison, this song doesn't quite have the right qualities for a Bond film. How about trying I Believe You (1978) by the Carpenters, which would work much like Nobody Does It Better does for The Spy Who Loved Me ?

  • I saw Moonraker at the Movies for the Second Time on Friday , August 31st, 1979.

I saw it for the First Time about 2 weeks earlier.

Once again, Roger Moore grew into the part of James Bond 007.

His Version. the Movie was Fun, Dramatic, Hysterical o nOccasion and full of Thrills and Action and Bone Chilling Danger.

I want to name a Son, Roger.......

  • Nothing Beats Shirly Bassey

  • Good Idea: Can you do The Sy Who Loved Me with the song "Oh Yeah" by yello?

  • sorry.....not even close to shirley basseys version,,,,,,,,this is a snoozer.

  • I think the Live and Let Die Harrison matchup was flawless that you picked. The Mookraker one is almost a bit too folksy. I could have seen it if they gave George Harrison a call and said this is the song, but it's a bit too folksy, can you arrange it to mesh with the outer space theme a bit more.

  • wow. i really wish they used that song. everything corresponded perfectly in the video with the melody of the song. it's fantastic.

  • I think this would have been a perfect opening for Moonraker; no offense to Shirley Bassey's performance. Here comes the Moon has that matching feel for a typical James Bond opening theme. I listened to the other video using George Harrison for Live and Let Die, this song more defines his music career.

  • LuiECuomo. You're a freakin' genius.

  • THIS WOULD BEEN EXELENT

  • With pure respect to the most spiritual Beatle... this would have been the wrong choice for the title.

  • Have you thought about doing something with the Scissor Sisters' 'Land of a Thousand Words'? That was deliberately written in the style of a Bond theme, and it sounds very Roger Moore to me.

  • Hmm...I'll have to look into that. ;)

  • I have a request: Moonraker intro, with the disco version of the theme used in the end credits.

  • Good idea, dude. I'll get on that some time this weekend, hopefully. :)

  • Thanks!

  • Wow...that fit SO perfectly I don't even know what to say. And not just in the broad strokes, but in so many tiny, subtle details. That was really cool to see.

I can't remember if I've mentioned it--don't THINK I have though--you should do one to Adam Ant's "Desperate But Not Serious"...I always thought that would've made a KILLER Bond theme.

  • It does fit well, doesn't it? It would have been cool to have a different Beatle do a Bond theme as well, but I love Shirley Bassey's "Moonraker" theme to much to see it replaced by this, or any song for that matter. Perhaps it would have worked well as an alternate end credits song, a la "If There Was A Man," "Surrender," and "If You Asked Me To."

  • Wow! It fits great! :)
