mine was hit by a car on a walk with me, he was besides my wheelchair and she didnt stop. My beloved dog died one week later after pelvic surgery. he was almost six years old. I hope she gets better! I have a dog and I went to a humane socity and saw a dog and I fell in love with it. I asked my mom if i could get it and when she said no, I couldnt stop crying. It was 8 years old and I knew it would probably be put to sleep. I'll never forget her...best wishes, Luna! If it comes to the worst, she'll be fine in heaven. :)

She now walks around with very little assistance and will probably have a complete recovery.

@DueysPlace I just watched this video and my eyes filled with tears, Labradors are so faithful and innofensive, Luna is so beautiful, We have two labradors ourselves Bronson our black lab and Sandy our yellow lab. Great to know her recovery is going well, my family and I will be following her story, please keep the video's posted.

poor luna! i wish i could donate. but im still a student. My dog lucky was also hit by a car but she got better. However, she wasn't that lively compared before. Eventually she died. When my dog died, i felt like i didn't deserve to have them.

My dog was hit by a car and my mom recieved a phone call because of all my "lost dog" posters... she never told me what happened until many years later.... keep in mind dark colored dogs have higher chances of being hit by cars....poor dog doesn't understand how to cross streets

I have very similar dog (adopt from shelter) his name is Jacuś/Jack. I help dogs how I can, I have 6. Dogs suffer and die in shelter because of as people.

I am sorry that this happend, but a real vet would put it down and not ask people to give them money to save it. There are millions of animals in shelters being put down from families thinking it would be fun to breed their dogs and failing to find them proper homes. Those are the problems to be solved and donated towards, its is sad but it is true.

not when you have to ask people for the money, sure if you had the expenses but asking people to pay for your own mistakes is what is senseless .i work at a veterinary surgery its hard i know to put animals to sleep but sometimes its what has to be done. I've seen people do these things before and really there are like i said other animals that need the money badly.

A police officer found the animal in the bushes. The Humane Society contacted the dogs owner but the owner refused to take Luna back. The Humane Society paid for Luna's Surgery.

This video is to help recover some of the expenses.

A big portion of the Humane Society is supported by donations!

The Humane Society takes care of thousands of animals just like Luna every single day!!!

@kyosinmyheart What exactly does "pay for your own mistakes" mean? They didn't hit the dog. they didn't let the dog roam the neighborhood. They helped it when no one else would. Just because she was broken doesn't mean she should have been thrown away. If you had a child that broke its back, would you disregard its life so easily? It may not be a real kid, but it's got a right to attempt a recovery same as you do. I sure hope you don't work in my vet's office...

solved. no, breeding pets everyday for fun is what needs to be solved. the money to save this dog could feed 100's of animals that get dumped for no reason other than hopeless people not taking responsibility for their actions. it is an aggravating thing when people run into where i work freaking over their dog, we fix it and they cant pay....and look its right here on the internet, and ive seen these stories here plenty of times to accept an owner not taking responsibility for their pet.

Luna was considered a stray when they found her in the bushes. The owner was located but when she found out about the accident refused to take Luna back. Luna now has a new owner. A VET Student at OSU!
