You've done a great job there mate, one tip I have, you may already know this but you can feel the hive heat through the lining which helps, then of course the dullness when tapping confirms it..
Thanks for the great videos. Could you please describe how you adjust the suction of your bee vac? I was thinking of constructing a bee vac and using a very small shop vac.
When you do a cutout do you repair the structure or do you have the homeowner sign some agreement that you're not responsible for repairs? I have wanted to cutouts for people but have declined, since I didn't want to be liable for the repairs of the acess holes.
So how much of a bad idea is it to buy a bee suit, sit outside of the hive entrance deep in my rock porch and slap at them with a magazine for 3 hours?
you really don't know if you are dealing with africanized bees (AHB) or just mean bees. Don't worry, they only sting, It's not like they throw a sack over your head and shove you in the trunk of a Ford.
I've done a few cutouts that could be AHB. So what? I've been to africa, the beeks there deal with AFB. So don't buy into the hype the media gives you on this. Bees are bees, mean bees are mean bees. It's all good.
@OutOfaBlueSky yeah but i thought their main defense tactic is to sting relentlessly and in massive numbers for minor transgressions. I know nothing about AHBz as i live up north.. But I was of the impression that they were like the ancient scottish in sheer brute force. is it really not that bad?
@OutOfaBlueSky you obviously dont deal with AHB you shouldnt be giving advise about bees you are not use to dealing with and you know there not from africa right... you could not do those extractions with out the proper protection . AHB are a totaly diffrent game then your russian , caucasion , or other honey bee sure a bee is just a bee but to say dont worry about it is a bit ignorant ..
@s8tin Nope, I definitely deal with AHB. They are not as severe as the media portrays. Go watch JPthebeeman videos. He's the king of AHB removals, and he only wears a veil half the time.
@OutOfaBlueSky Dont need to watch a video I own a company in Az, I know what Im talkin about ...and again the bees are not from africa ..and you obviously dont deal with to many africanized bees you could not do those without glove and if you say you can ...are you willing to put your money where your mouth is ???
@OutOfaBlueSky BLaaaaa funny how you keep sayin you deal with AHB and you guys on the east coast dont even have AHB....blaaaaa who ever is buying tis guys bull shit on the AHB look it up he has NO clue as to what he is talkin about on the AHB ...dont make your self look any dumber ...you should go read up on the AHB I hope by now you have learned they are not from africa ...blaaaaaa

@remi009340 well if you want to save the bees (for honey) you have to extract them not kill them
TheDD5623 1 year ago
@remi009340 as a species, they're struggling. It's backwards to kill them.

You rock! I like the way you try to save the bees. Do you keep the bees or do you know a bee keeper that takes them?

Yes but if AHB's are really mad they can swarm all over a person and sting them thousands of times, best treat them with caution!

@FlyTheObserver No, it's not. I could do 3 out of 4 extractions without gloves or veil.
