Concealed carry is no good. Open carry is far better. It actually works as a DETERRENT FIRST, then gives you a MUCH BETTER chance to wield your weapon in defense, should you need it. Visit websites like opencarry/org and do it right. Don't buy the whole "BG will shoot you first" deal, because there is ZERO evidence to support it. Open carry is ALWAYS superior to fumbling for a gun under your clothes.
Good video. Great for an IPSC or IDPA drill but not practical in real life. Imagine walking around in that starting position of yours? LOL Which is necessary to get the times you're posting. Not to mention that if you're lucky enough to have a frontal attack and you recognize it as such. Someone taking you by surprise while you're in relaxed casual stance, or walking, would necessitate you moving and drawing at the same time and then engaging.
not to be a troll, or to undermine the importance of weapons proficiency, but these studies on armed assailants... were they done on Olympic sprinters? I mean.. the fastest 100m dash was done in 9.58 seconds.. so.. that guy might be able to do it armed, in sneakers, on a track, in good weather after years of training.. but for the average thug...
@ gamerguy you are 18 and wanna play with guns. If you wanted to be safe you would move to canada
@Grimganker 21 feet is 6.4 meters - it's easier than you think. This study is common knowledge - published by Dennis Tueller of the in the early 80s. An easy way to test it is to stand at the 7 yard line (in front of a target) with your pistol concealed and holstered. Have your buddy start 7 yards away (behind or to the side). At a prearranged signal, your buddy runs to you, while you go for your pistol. Can he touch you before you have your firearm up, out, and on target?
I would doubt it if I knew he was coming. Bearing in mind we don't get concealed weapon training in Canada as concealed carry ( or any carry in general) is strictly prohibited.
Hello i dont know if you can help but maybe you can. I live in fl and i am 18 i want to carry a gun for protection for myself and my loved ones. But i cant until i am 21 by our laws. I did not know if there is any way to appeal or try to get one early. Theres so much violence i just want to protect my self. I do not wish to brake the law or use a gun unreasoningly i just wish to protect my self. If you have any info that could help i would be very gratefu. Thanks for taking the time to read this
@gamerguy1991 There is no way to get your concealed carry license early. However, you can seek out good training - that will give you the actual confidence and ability to defend yourself more than carrying a gun can!
@kerux1769 I am sorry and i thank you for taking the time to reply but what happens with some one with out a gun stands up to some one with a gun. Bad things i do practice hand to hand combat but if i am faced with a life or death problem its not going to help.
