Hello from Orlando. Cucumbers don't seem to do well in the summer. I screened the plants which kept out the pickle worms, but mosaic virus is infecting the plants. I only got 5 fruits.
I love the way you experiment with other seeds. Stay cool.
I have so enjoyed watching all your videos this month. I'm in Central FL and am beginning my garden.
You mentioned you used vinyl for your boxes. Could you give more details? Where did you get the materials? I love their look and they are better than wood in FL.
Thank you for the time and work you've invested to share your experience with all of us!
Home Depot sells an 8' section which is 8" deep. You can find it in the house trim area. It cost around $25 per piece. It is hard to cut and will dull a blade fast, so have a back up blade if you are going to do a big garden. thanks for watching!
You have the most wonderful garden. It is amazing how much you can produce in such a small place. Love the vids, keep up the good work.
Ps-You are a big part of the reason that I have started a square foot garden in my backyard, Thank you because it has been very rewarding to me and my family.
Thai kaffir lime!!! That is amazing, you can use the lime skin to make some wonderful curry paste. I think most of the curry paste use the lime (skin), and the leaf you can use for thai fish cake, it's yummie. I'm from thailand and want to grow one of the tree, but just haven't get through it yet. Amazing garden as always.
another thing i do for money is move trees for people and that tree you have in a pot needs to be staked to grow stright up put some bamboo sticks or rebar around it and tie a couple of peices of string around the steaks to the stree so it will grow stright up. when i move trees that is the biggest mistake people make when i plant them they let them lean over and it will kill a tree eventuly
may i ask what exactly do you put into your soil mix? im in s. texas and i still dont have success with peppers.. not ever and it's frustrating me to no end! thanks for any info.angel
I really look forward to your videos Donna. You have inspired me, but I have to be careful to remember that I do not live in Florida, and my peppers won't look like yours. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work. There is a lot of Yum in that garden.
Thanks Donna, Love your videos. I live in north Georgia although I'm from south Georgia, Columbus and we are boiling here also. I can't have a garden because my whole property is a forest but I really enjoy learning about what your doing even your mistakes are valuable information. So I have been spending my time learning about food preservation because for now I must buy food from folks like you and put it up. Thanks again.

I use Mel's Mix, as stated in the All New Square Foot Gardening Book. it is 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 compost, and 1/3 peat moss. Happy Gardening!
