  • Awesome idea.. I would also use spray adhesive for stencils to put more than one layer together..

  • That is really clever! Those companies would go out of business with people like you! :)

  • You are so clever. I used mine to emboss on tin metal squares, came out gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that great idea.

  • love it, I dont have a cricut machine! :)

  • thank you for sharing...I LOVE dry embossing and now I have endless possibilities...WOO!!HOO!!

  • Why not use cardboard of thickness such as that of a cereal box ? Then one would not have to tape 3 stencils together.....

  • @justtubingby You could- and it would be ideal- But, not everyone has the Deep Cut Blade. This makes it possible for anyone with a Cricut.

  • Love this technique! Thanks so much for sharing! ~J~

  • cool

  • Very clever!

  • Wow! That is genius. I'm so impressed

  • Thank you for your great tutorial; very well done and a great new technique. I love the template you used. You said it was lyrical letters.... Where can I find it? Once again, thanks!

  • this is the most useful tip i've learned in a looong looong time!

  • so kewl!! so you could prob also do this if you had chipboard? and would u be able to use it on metal?

  • wonderful ! where can you get the cuttlebug ?

  • Soooo...I have a cuttlebug, therefor no rubber mat. What plates do I use? Just the norm? This is SO exciting for me with getting ready to do my Christmas cards! :)

  • @TheJennabelle You can pick up a rubber mat at your crafting store. Spellbinders has one, Sizzix has one...or you could use a thin mouse pad,etc/

  • @TheJennabelle

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and pick up plumber's gasket. It is a small squared rubber mat that costs about 35 cents and works great as the rubber mat you need. I bought it to use with the textured plates by fiskars for my cuttlebug.

  • Wow that was fantastic, I have some may cartridges that I would love to make embossed material from. GREAT!! Thanks for sharing

  • Where did you get the rubber mat when you embossed

  • @njerimwangi1 Thank you-- you are too sweet!

  • What about using the deep cut blade, multiple cuts with poasterboard.....

  • @CardCrazeeHeather That would work too-- I didn't have a deep cut blade at the time :)

  • What material did you use to cut the pattern out? Great idea can't wait to get started

  • @Angelmommy100 Just card stock :)

  • I would have never known to do that! All the money I spent on embossing folders. Yikes.

  • AWESOME!!!!! Just waaaaay to cool.......Definitely going to try. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • That is so cool. I would never have thought of that in a million years. Thanks!

  • Have you tried using the copper or metal material on the cricut to make embossing folders?

  • @Jackovblack I have not-- have you?

  • Thanks for sharing!!!

  • seeing that, makes me think i can press coin images into paper...ahh the possibilites are endless!!!

  • I love this !!!;)

  • Awsome!!!!!

  • What a great idea, I am completely new to the cricut only had mine a week but can't wait to try this. Thanks so much

  • fantastic video, thanks

  • wow great idea thanks

  • can you use this embossing plate again and again or is a 1 off use?

  • @marmegcal again and again :)

  • very cute image.wow this is awesome I was wondering if you can do this just never did. so thank you for doing it. will try now.:)

  • hey, you said you were embossing on paper. What effect will it be if you were using cardstock? Can you do a video to see the difference? thx

  • @001authentic I am sorry-- I used cardstock- I didn't use super-heavy cardstock, just regular cardstock from Hobby Lobby. I often just group it all together as paper-- again, I am sorry for the confusion ;)

  • Wow! That worked great! Totally going to try it :)

  • I have been researching the best way to make your own embossing plates. So far I like this method the best. Thanks For The Video!
