I just wana say girls well done 4 standing up 4 ur rights alot of people say they should do something lyk that bu ye actually went through with it well done!!!!!!!!! ;)
The administrator has agreed to pay all money owed to the occupiers. Congratulations to the workers and let this be a lesson to everyone that direct action gets the goods.
My sympathies are with the ladies, but it is pretty clear that do not understand the legal process. Their 'occupation' is about as effective as farting against the wind.
This is amazing, it brought tears to my eyes. Keep it up and don't let the bosses take your money, they take enough of it as it is with their big fat wages. Solidarity from me and from London. x
YES, you guys are heroes, don't give up. your struggle is the same struggle that many people across the country are facing. I have so much admiration for you all!! :) x
If youre contracted to it, and youve honestly worked for it then youre entitled to it. So an occupation shouldnt be necessary either they give you your money or theyre taken to court.
@NicosMind That's not the only problem- The way they have treated their staff is ridiculous, and I am sure that all staff who worked at La Senza can agree. It is sad to say this, especially when I have done nothing but sing praises for the company, but I believe that had they given us more information as to what was happening, and paid us respect that we deserved then we would have been a lot more understanding, as unfortunately something hadn't gone right in the company. You go girls!
YOU BLOODY GO GIRLS!!!! I was in the same position as you at Huddersfield! No respect at all after working here for over 2 years now and also giving nothing but support to La Senza for more than 5 years with people I knew working there! I am disgusted at how we have been treated, especially when we was told we had to work (after being told we wouldn't be getting paid more than likely) and if we didn't turn up we would be sacked!
If I was in Dublin I would come down and support! Good luck!!!!
Fair play to you girls!! Standing up for what is owed to you all for the work you have done for the company. As a fellow retail sector worker you have my support all the way.
The Administrator would have paid them, whether they occupied the shop or not.
