Why compare Frusciante and Hendrix? Both are amazing guitarists, they come from different times and though frusciante said he got his inspiration from hendrix he still has his own unique style.
in my opinion frusciante is great for music, not for guitar skills.... many pros are far better for speed and technic. but feeling and good music are john's trademarks. not my favourite but surely a great one!
john is the the hendrix of our day. don't get me wrong. there will never be another hendrix, but Frusciante is THE most creative guitar player out there today.

Eh... I've listened to every song John Frusciante has made, all his solo albums, tons of live shit, and all the RHCP albums.. and John is so unbelievable. He's the most creative single musician I've ever heard. He writes amazing lyrics too. Hendrix was just good for his time. John 1-ups him though. I mean, John live is incredible, his ability to improv solo like that is incredible. I've never heard a song that tops throw away your tele. live from hyde park.
