i remember going here when i was 8 or 9 in 1997, best hotel I have ever been to. I remember myself and my sisters were all crying when we got home because we were so sad the holiday was over haha. Best thing about it was the amazing wildlife. I went on their nature walks every morning. One day a different guide took the walk and he was totally blown away at my knowledge of the plants and animals etc until I told him i had done the walk about 6 times already haha.

The Datai , I am coming back .. I highely recommend this hotel for any one looking for nature, peace, amazing services and very profissional staff. the food is great, villas are well furnished and equipped with every thing you need including an Ipod, DVD played, CD player, Plazma TV your coffe machine , high speed internet and more. I went there with my 7 year and 3 years daughters and we had fun watching animals, swimming , enjoying the beach. the best time to visit is during low season.

Thanks damofritz...i was planning to go there, i stayed at the Tanjun Rhu( i paid for the most expensive suite and there where no lifts and seaview even though they said it had a view) and i thought Datai would be better...now i m not going to any of them.

This place was awful, its very modern and the place is beautiful but there is NO atmosphere!

Datai bay very expensive, I prefer to stay in the area Chenang beach.
