Thank you so much for your video. It's really informative and brings up a lot of good points. You're right that the first step is definitely the hardest leap to make, especially because it's hard to admit that you were wrong before, especially if it was for many years and you've made sacrifices to defend your faith. I'm still trying to figure out how to fully recover, after being born into fundamentalism and leaving at 18. Videos like this have been immensely encouraging, so I thank you!

I have been planning a video series detailing what helped me during my own agonizing deconversion. Before making any video content, I would very much like to read or listen to your book.

There doesn't seem to be an audio version. Is that in the works or will the book remain solely in print media indefinitely?

Truly, it baffles me how I have survived the past 4 years since losing my faith. All is well now, of course! I am just glad that a book exists to aid others through this process.

please, christian fundamentalism is rearing its head in the uk....sheffield hope city megachurch for one...please watch their vids and send messages of hope and truth to these kids whose pastor is a very charismatic ego bunny....they will block you if youare too full on but these people are being lied to and used. please pass the word on.....

I'm guessing he was a hit and run Xian. I seriously doubt he is going to return to even respond to any of our comments and probably prefers to live in the fictional world of his manmade religion and his human concept of a deity, as well as his book which was written and inspired by humans. I think what scared him into reacting as he did is reality and he was hit square in the face with it. He didn't like it, so he reacted in the only way he knew how.

2worldsatwar: Is it possible, even just the tiniest bit, that some parts of your religion were made up by men, for their own purposes? Is it the tiniest bit possible that what you've been taught to believe is not 100% "from God"? It's not the spiritual aspect of life that Marlene is addressing, but the purely human religious nastiness, masquerading as love and Christian compassion. That's what's so damaging.

Christianity's "fruit" include religious men who cheat on their wives with male prostitutes because they cannot reconcile their homosexuality and families otherwise broken because their god taught them to hate others. Let's not even start with the Crusades (ancient and modern) and other atrocities carried out in the name of the Prince of Peace. What "darknoess!" is being promoted here?

An agent of Satan? I know of one little orange cocker spaniel who would have taken that as a compliment to both Marlene and him. Satan was one of the sweetest and nicest dogs. If she is an agent of Satan, the ASPCA would just love Marlene. :) When I was a kid, I called Satan all the time. All I got was my dog and I knew that even as a child. That is reality and this is it- nothing more.

Aphrodite (Greek) and Hathor (Egyptian) would be so jealous. They couldn't compete with my evil twin.

@2worldsatwar Everyone knows? Really? We do know that there are fields in which we do not understand. To say that we "know" these fields to be populated by a particular entity performing particular actions would be extremely ignorant.

Actually, Christianity is a story... a collection of stories. If you did your research, as I doubt you have or ever will, you will find that Christianity is a collection of pagan and Judaic myth and folklore.

@2worldsatwar The cross you hold so dear was a pagan symbol for the sun (look at a zodiac dial).... a sun which just so happens to do "die" for 3 days and rise again each year around Christmas (Winter Solstice). This sun then reaches it's full power power again around Easter (Spring Equinox). Cultures have revered the cross long before Christianity existed.

@robsteinerus @2worldsatwar Your story of Christianity was created to reconcile these beliefs. The Bible refers to Jesus being hung on a "stauros", which means stake in Latin. Why don't Christians hang stakes from their necks?

This is just one example.

The fact is, there is very little historical documentation of Jesus. The details of his life were written 70 years after his death. 70 years is a lot of time for myth, folklore, and legend to marinate.

Your Fruity bible verse would put people like Marlene in heaven. There are Atheist that bear remarkable fruits. There are many Christians who bear only rotten fruits.

You're right, Atheism does require faith. There could have been a god that set the big bang in motion and then walked away. Atheist believe that this was not the case, they don't know for certain. However, an atheist's beliefs are based on a lot of observed facts. How many facts are Christianity based upon?

You cannot provide the slightest piece of evidence for christianity being true, except that it says so in the bible so please be a little bit more moderate, study some science and don't call others crazy names like agent of Satan.
