@Takelot64 I think all the californication fans who heard this song for the first time in the show, will prefer Jimmy's version, as I do. Although original version by Bob is great as well but it just sounds kinda not like it should, because once you hear something for the first time and you like it, you don't want to hear other versions - it just aint sound right. And the solo till the end it amazing. Thats my opinion. This one blows my mind.

This is simply Jimmy's interpretation of this wonderful song. Some will find it better, some will find it worse - it's all a matter of opinion. Personally, I feel that it is a far superior version to the original. I love Dylan, but I see him primarily as a writer and an artist, not always a performer. And like many great writers and artists, it sometimes takes a performer to bring out the best of that piece, that script, that character, or that song. Jimmy has done just that - great tune!

Hey, I like Jimmy LaFave. He's one of the better singer/songwriters out there. HOWEVER, I wish he had picked a different Dylan song to cover. Not Dark Yet is one of Dylan's best of the last 20 plus years. You just can't equal that imho, much less top it & I kind of wish wish he hadn't tried.
