  • John - Agatha Doyle I don't know. We are trying to trace our ancestors and are making slow progress. I have a cousin in Grates Cove, Alice (Doyle) but I am not aware of her married name. She had a brother Kevin, who lived on Water Street in St Johns and passed away a short while ago. These are the only ones I know. My uncle was Ronald Doyle my mothers's brother.

  • Lovely slideshow ...I really enjoyed it.You've come a long way baby. I sold my painting of Grates Cove this summer. I sold it through the Elizabeth Burry studio on Duckworth St. Didn't get to meet the people who bought it, of course but Elizabeth told me they were very happy to get a painting of Grates Cove. I miss it because it was a part of my living room for so long. Well four years is long! Take care. Are you home yet? Love to see videos of Portsmouth.

  • Hi John - great to see these pictures. I grew up in Grates Cove and spent many nights in the house that you bought. It was my Grandmothers house and my father and his brother built it way back then. I must admit - I am beyond homesick after watching this "slide show". Great Job. Lisa Doyle

  • Great, just great John. Makes me want to get on the bike and start out to there now.
