  • at first when you walked in i thought they had demolished the carpet then realized it was the garage floor! still pretty bad though. glad I'm not a landlord.

  • yep, it sucks but a good landlord does inspections as well as in depth background checks which he would have found out had he done it. Instead of crying over his place, why the hell isnt he finding these people so the kids can go to a better home.....obviously the house is more important....

  • Sorry the landlord got rooked, it was partially his/her fault for failing to conduct periodic in-person inspections. Probably an absentee LL. The damage shown doesn't look that hard to fix -- a good vaccuming, new carpet as required (paid for with tenants' security deposit) and wall cleaning or paint (which should be done anyway between occupancies. What's the big deal -- it's not shown here. Turnover typically costs $1,500-3,000 -- about what LL is on the hook for here. I've seen worse.
