Ok, the hose from the engine block to the PCV should be a molded hose. Meaning, it has a larger outlet at the engine block side than the PCV...Mine had a crack in it and I just put metal tape over it for now. I may have to do something like yours when it finally fails!...I'm also having fuel issues. Mine dies upon acceleration. Idles fine-revs fine. I have read that there's a screen at the inlet to the fuel pump that catches stuff from the tank. I think I may clean that and see what happens.
Haven't figured it out yet. I'm currently rebuilding the engine. I took all the fuel injection out and will be going with some early SU carbs. I did check the ECU and it looks fine. It may have had nothing to do with the FI at all, but I would rather have something I can troubleshoot easily.
The hose to the pcv valve should be one hose. Where were you taking the fuel pressure at? Don't worry about your brake light eventually it should stay on all the time. If i stall out my car the voltage light turns on also. When the rpms don't drop have you taped on the accelerator with your foot? You might have some crap in those ball joints that connect to the throttle body. BTW sweet looking Z didn't see any rust.
