The government already subsidizes the meat and dairy industry (hello socialism), and it's not "small farmers" like you might think, these are huge corporations. And the reason the cows farts are so bad is because they are fed corn instead of grass. The reason they feed the cows corn is because it is cheaper because the government subsidizes cheap corn to raise the cattle on. The reason so many people need so much health care is because they eat junky food. It's a vicious cycle.
His argument is pure ideology and has no basis in reality. If he thought about what he was saying for even a few seconds, it would instantly dawn on him that what he's saying makes zero sense.
The fact is that differnet types of government expenditure create different numbers of jobs, depending how much money is spent on labor. Education spending creates the most jobs per $1MM, while military spending creates among the fewest jobs per $1MM.
You would do well to read some Chomsky. You need to get exposure to some ideas besides the far right. The leading problem with the far right spokesmen is that they are dishonest; you're being lied to and manipulated on a daily basis if you listen to right-wing talk radio or read conservative blogs.
I agree with you. If you look at my subscriptions though my only right-wing one is Ajax. This is because I do enjoy hearing both sides of the argument, however from time to time Ajax does make certain good points and I have had some good debate with him in the past.
I agree about AJAX. He seems like a decent fellow, despite his conservatism.
Personally, I listen to more conservatives on YouTube than liberals, it seems. Listening to the right is listening to the preacher speaking to the choir. But I have a genuine fascination with how the rightwing mind operates. My personal favorite are the ones who think Obama isn't a natural born citizen. Can't get enough of that stuff.
Of course the government can create jobs. Ever hear of the United States Military? How many jobs do you suppose have been created in connection with that little enterprise?
But those are the kind of jobs far-right extremists can support. Jobs that actually help the US population, on the other hand, that's socialism, right?

Whoops, I should proofread. I meant to say that listening to the LEFT is like listening to the preacher speaking to the choir.
