As a journalism student and YouTuber, I found this to be pretty fair and pretty accurate. All of the fake errors in the Yahoo! and MSNCBC articles/blogs are just embarrassing. And I am never in favor of bashing, because, like you said, we're not a community, we're a large group of disconnected, interwoven friends.

That is completely fallacious. From the start, none of the top youtubers made any money money from what they did. They did it because they enjoyed doing it, and they took the risk of putting themselves out there. When given the opportunity to make a paycheck from that, of course they took it. According to your logic, the community would have never been formed, because at the start no one was getting payed for making videos.
Well making videos can apparently keep a roof over their head, so I would call it a real job. I do agree that there are SOME bad eggs in the group who only care about the money, but that is also true in other jobs as well (Pro sports is a perfect example of this).
Super Mac 18 already revealed that he makes 3000 dollars a month from Youtube. I am sure that all you known youtubers make more than enough money considering you don't have other jobs. That is completely fallacious. From the start, none of the top youtubers made any money money from what they did. They did it because they enjoyed doing it, and they took the risk of putting themselves out there. When given the opportunity to make a paycheck from that, of course they took it. According to your logic, the community would have never been formed, because at the start no one was getting payed for making videos.

Well making videos can apparently keep a roof over their head, so I would call it a real job. I do agree that there are SOME bad eggs in the group who only care about the money, but that is also true in other jobs as well (Pro sports is a perfect example of this).

Here, you're arrogant and use YT for self-aggrandizement by exalting yourself as part of a "friendly community" (one that you leeched off of to gain your popularity [MGM], so I don't know what your problem is) that could augment mainstream media.
