Well I'm pleased to see that the split amongst the Polish here is about 50/50. Doug Stanhope's humour is the comedic equivalent of a big stick with nails in it. Brutal, but with many striking points. Any criteria I'd use to judge whether to show this to someone, wouldn't include the fact that they're Polish, just how active and dark their humour is.

Why blame desperate poor people for doing shit work for a fraction of what they're worth, why not blame the people who are taking advantage of their desperation by paying them shit for doing shit work? Isn't this anger directed at the wrong people? If you have to do that kind of work to survive, you're going to do it, and the disapproval of the natives isn't going to stop you, because the only alternative is to live on the street.

Just because the audience aren't rising to their feet and bursting into a spontaneous round of applause at every punchline, like they do in America because over there people treat comedy shows like fascist rallies, that doesn't mean he's bombing. Believe it or not, people in the UK and Ireland go to comedy shows TO LAUGH, not to whoop and cheer. Sorry if I came across as a bit of a dick but I just had to get that off my chest.

Stanhope, Hicks, Carlin etc
People applaud at american comedy gigs more often, becuase comedians like Doug often act as quasi political/social thinkers when they do stand up.

The way I see it he is slagging anti immigrationists in the UK. These people usually complain "they can't speak our language + they take our jobs." Doug is saying: IF you can have your job taken by someone who can't speak your language, then you should be embarrased of yourself rather than angry at Polish people.

Well I'm pleased to see that the split amongst the Polish here is about 50/50. Doug Stanhope's humour is the comedic equivalent of a big stick with nails in it. Brutal, but with many striking points. Any criteria I'd use to judge whether to show this to someone, wouldn't include the fact that they're Polish, just how active and dark their humour is.
