During WW2 Henderson field was the airstrip on Guam used by the US forces. It was named for Major Lofton Henderson who was killed at the Battle of Midway in the Pacific.
i agree this is very much a circus-sounding song. i play f-horn and im playin this in marching band (or symphonic band now) and its pretty tough. you can hear the horns on the syncopation. at least the first horn part at least...

I go to Henderson High School in East Texas and our Middle School band plays this on the field when we march. I'm the highschool drum major :)
