  • the first thing that crossed my mind when i heard marius was ahh thats what he is supposed to sound like. not nick jonas... he sounded constipated most of the time.

  • Am I the only one who was thinking 'Javert! Javert! He's right there! Standing RIGHT BESIDE OF YOU!' ? LOL

  • better than the 25th anniversary edition

  • Thank you for recording the well deserved applause

  • I'm not partial to musicals, but this is breathtaking!

  • ALL THE STANDING OVATIONS.

  • class

  • as much as i love colm wilkinson.... for me alfie boe is my favourite Jean Valjean !

  • Colm Wilkinson not only sings it best but gives the best characterization of Jean Valjean of all.

  • Shit, lea its greatest!

  • this is such an amazing song. one of the best of all time

  • Absolutely amazing, 25th was better than I thought it would be, but still, will never meet this cast of amazing actors and singers.

  • Gives me goosebumps.

  • I cannot believe that one of the most amazing male singers of our time has only 100k views... How sad is it that susan boyle has millions?

  • beautiful

  • How amazing it must have been to go and see THAT live!! :')

  • If you don't like this musical you have no ears and the I.Q. of a peanut. We(the public) are lucky to have a musical like this when we need inspiration

  • @WaileaWilly1 That's being a bit harsh, isn't it? It's a strong musical, for sure, but with everything, there are always reasons to dislike it (In this case, I'd point out the lyrics aren't nearly as strong as they could be, often being rather plain and unremarkable. It doesn't spoil the show for me, but it's a flaw people could easily point to when attacking the show).

  • @VRNProductions I stand by my original statement... this musical is head and shoulders above other musicals....just listen to the music and remember where this play came from....Victor Hugo

  • @WaileaWilly1 Hm...well, what in particular does this show have that makes it stand out amongst shows like, for instance, Follies, Pacific Overtures, Sunday in the Park With George, Cabaret, Sweet Charity, Chicago, West Side Story, Company, A Chorus Line, etc. I mean, I do really like Les Mis, but I wouldn't call it "heads and shoulders" above other shows when you've got the likes of Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, or Bernstein to compare it to.

  • @VRNProductions All of the shows you bring up are fantastic, but here's the kicker....all of us who act as critics as to what is best etc forget one thing, the public really has the last say.Of all the shows,Les Mis has been the one which has been in constant production(Broadway...Broadway Touring..World Tours) since it's start

  • @WaileaWilly1 Popularity says nothing about quality. Transformers 3 grossed far more money than a film like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but you'd be hard-pressed to argue that it's honestly the better film. Just because Les Mis is insanely popular does not make it the best. What matters is the show itself, devoid of outside opinion or reaction or popularity. I ask you again- what makes this show definitively the best, even over all the others I've mentioned?

  • @VRNProductions I have my opinion and you have yours, time to get on with life

  • @WaileaWilly1 But what good are opinions if we don't defend and qualify them? Obviously life goes on and these sorts of discussions are relatively trivial in the grand scheme of things, but I don't see what's wrong about discussing our opinions in civilized manner.

  • @WaileaWilly1 I agree that it is the absolute best... probabaly because it has the most sense of reality and raw human emotion- it is timeless. However, it is, technically speaking, not a musical at all, it is an opera.

  • @SuperYmmat Agree.... nice to know people appreciate musical theatre. World would not be as nice without them

  • Mulan, Jasmine, and Pocahontas

its the plethora of Disney princess voices ;)

  • Eponine is pretty... :D

  • Wasn't the south park movie a parody of this musical?

  • @gagnorblu Not sure if "parody" is the right word, but they certainly drew a lot of inspiration from it!

  • Saw this show over seventy times and brought the hairs up on the back of my neck every time ! badly bitten by the theatre bug

  • Where can I get this 10th anniversary concert set? Truely Amazing!!!

  • @mirrar Amazon.

  • did anyone else notice in the 25th anniversary that Michael Ball made an appearance in the encore....Why couldn't of he done Marius one more time before Nick Jonas disgraced the songs.

  • 10th was all.

  • also I have always thought the part where all the other parts cut off and valjean and javert sing in unison for a moment should be a very big part but here they don't give anything to it :(

  • my japanese is very poor but the subs do look VERY janky .-.

  • This is by far my favorite version. BUT. In my personal opinion, my dream cast is everyone here and Ramin Karimloo as Enjolras. For some reason I just really don't like the guy who plays him in this video. . . . . once you've heard the breath control of Ramin. . . . theres not much more you can do .

  • This is amazing but to be honest i like alfie boe more :D

  • This blows away the 25th anniversary cast!

  • Jean Valjean!

  • One word: WOW!!!!

  • I get goose bumps every time I listen to/watch this.

  • this is is and always will be the perfect cast of Les Miserables. All powerful voices that only give emotion.

  • who did add the subbs to that video?

    dont mean to be rude

but do you REALLY NEED to TRY to translate something when you just need to feel it?:P dont get it

  • @DurtyHarrys It's still nice to know what they're saying, I guess

  • This song always gives me the shivers! Especially where the cast joins in unison on "Tomorrow we'll discover what our God in Heaven has in store" Great cast, great score, great video!

  • I love this!

  • I know this is the dream cast but I legit prefer Alfie Boe over anyone.

  • WOW

  • Oh what I wouldn't give to see the dreamcast perform the whole play live...

  • There's a reason they call it "The Dream Cast," people.

  • Fantastic, just incredibly awesome! Much better than the 25th anniversary

  • i think Ramin does a better job at being Enjolras... just sayin'!

  • @MrStenchsluver So do I...he both seems to fit the part much better and sings it better in my opinion.

  • That was amazing

  • I just read 12/12/12 this comes to the big screen, staring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crow & Anne Hathaway. I CANT WAIT!

  • wtf, at the end Javert and Jean are standing right next to each other.. wouldn't they like.. get into a brawl? lmao.

  • awesome

  • Phillip Quast as Javert

  • who is singing the part of Javert?

  • Colm Wilkinson. the end

  • @ishouldplayzelda He is the only Jean Valjean.

  • @bawhite125 the only true valjean, anyway

  • Another amaaaaazzzinnnnggg performance of leah!!!!

  • Javert, look! Val Jean is standing right beside you! WHADDAYA WAITING FOR?!?

  • I had no idea Arcturus Megsk could sing. Wow. My world is shattered. In all seriousness though, beautiful song.

  • I own this movie! Its amazing! I turn it up super loud when I watch it lol.

  • One more day to revolution, we will nip it in the bud! We will join these little schoolboys, they will wet themselves with blood!

Oh, that's Javert alright. No mercy at all. Haha. Absolutely lovely song and video.

  • @Mickyeahh gotta love Javert XD

  • EPIC

  • they need to produce this on dvd!

  • @HORHAYY10 ... where do you think he got this from?

  • @HORHAYY10 lol, this is already on dvd.....i remember watching it on dvd with my dad a couple of years ago.

  • @HORHAYY10 Its already on dvd. I just ordered a new one off of ebay on dvd! You should check it out!

  • I hope my neighbours like this song....

  • oh... my... god... Listening to this makes me feel just purely happy.

  • This tenth anniversary version made me cry.

The twenty-fifth one also made me cry, but in a bad way.

  • @RhymesWithSammich seriously alfie is amazing but i must say that nick jonas sucks.

  • @RhymesWithSammich Oh get off yourself. The 25th anniversary was amazing, with the exception of a few players. Stop hating just because you think its cool.

  • @super0star0material Eh, I'd disagree. 25th had some really good performances and some moments of brilliance, but on the whole was just soulless spectacle, heightened by the fact they tried more to emulate an actual performance rather than a concert. There's a wealth of examples of this, but the clearest one for me is comparing "Javert's Suicide" in each concert- particularly how Quast and Lewis choose to deliver the final few lines of the song.

  • @VRNProductions Quast plays it straight, singing as written, while Lewis goes the octave up- an audibly more impressive choice. But in terms of the emotion brought through in the performance, Quast blows it out of the water, embodying a crushing desperation that you don't hear in the Lewis interpretation.

  • @VRNProductions Both are excellent performers, mind you, but the choice to do what is more immediately impressive rather than what actively aids the performance is an attitude that pervades the whole of the 25th ann. concert.

  • @RhymesWithSammich you say what I feel about les miserables renditions...... thank you Rhymes

  • ONE DAY MORE!

One more day to revolution! We will nip it in the bud!

We'll be ready for these schoolboys! They will wet themselves with blood!

Watch 'em run amuck! Catch 'em as they fall!

Never know your luck when there's a free-for-all!

Here a little dip, there a little touch!

Most of them are goners so they won't miss much!

(some other YouTuber take over from here. I'm exhausted.)

  • ONE MORE DAY BEFORE THE STORM!

Do I follow where she goes?

    AT THE BARRICADES OF FREEDOM!

Do I join my brothers there?

WHEN OUR RANKS BEGIN TO FORM!

Do I stay and do I dare?

WILL YOU TAKE YOUR PLACE WITH ME?

THE TIME IS NOW! tHE DAY IS HERE!

  • One more day all on my own...

    Will we ever meet again?

One more day with him not caring...

I was born to be with you!

What a life I might have known...

And I swear I will be true!

Yet he never saw me there!

  • I did not live until today...

How can I live when we are parted?

    ONE DAY MORE...

    Tomorrow you'll be worlds away!

And yet with you my world has started!

  • One day more...

    Another day another destiny...

This never ending road to calvary...

These men who seem to know my crime will surely come a second time!

    One day more...

  • Leaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • I still can't figure out how they take 4 or 5 different melodies for the various characters and have them sing lyrics to those melodies all at the same time and it works? It's just so damn impressive.

  • @ArtMonkforHallofFame Theorywise (If the score I have is correct that is) it isn't 100% perfect... but they have still managed to make it work in a really good way so who cares? It sounds spectacular. :)

  • @Thandiel3791 But 22,775 views, come on world. We could do better.

  • I love the voice of Lea Salonga. <3

  • I am literally rendered speechless whenever I watch this. God, I would have LOVED to be in that orchestra!

  • eargasm

  • Lea Salonga is magnificent!

  • im seeing this show today in DC :D

  • I can't even put my emotions into words right now... Its too perfect.

  • Is Enjoras the original

  • @BagOfSticksFork This is The original broadway Enjolras, Micheal Maguire. He won a tony award for his performance. The ORIGINAL, is David Bert, who has NOTHING on this guy.

  • @horerfandod3 This guy is good.

  • @BagOfSticksFork It's Michael Maguire, the original for the Broadway production of Les Miserables. He's not the original West End actor, if that's what you mean.

  • I laughed so hard at the Japanese subs!

  • @GengarLover1342 Why? were they funny?Maybe Victor hugo would laugh at Les mis in English..!

  • I love this musical and I have this on a video tape (LIKE VHS!) But the quality is shotty now because it is old! Thanks for posting!

  • one day MOOOOOOOORE!
