I doubt you will reply to this comment but anyways i am interested in engineering and i wanted a career that get to build robots in there house for a hobby or get to make cool stuff so ifyou can reply to me and say if i mech engineer can build this stuff i will appriciate it
Impressive. I wish I could make something like this. Perhaps I'll go to school for such things. Liked the conversation vid too. Maybe projects like this won't be so costly in the future as well...
and next you will make a video called "how to make luki robot part 1/100"!!! but plz, this is really cool, i would love to make a robot like this! really cool vid!
I gave up on stairs as a design trade-off between run-time (battery life), mechanical complexity, and desire to focus on the software. Maybe my next robot will handle stairs... :-)
Oh, he can go faster... but 40 lbs of robot hitting a wall at full speed makes my wife unhappy. :-)
Actually, the biggest limit is how quicky he can process all the sensor inputs for tracking his locaiton and obstical avoidance. I'm working on optimizing that.
Yes, I designed his left hand specifically to open door knobs. Biggest current problem is that door knobs are shiny, and surprisingly hard for the object detection software to recognize reliably... but, I'm working on it! (of course, the next thing after that is opening the 'fridge, so he can get a beer! :-)
