Kinda wierd, why did she change? She said she didn't want to become the new Britney Spears which was what her producers wanted her to be. But she still has some of her old punch in her songs from these songs.
People change. So her music changed, You can't stay an angry teenager forever. She grew up, fell in love, got married. Her life changed, so her music did. Why sing about teen agnst when you aren't anymore? Why not sing about happiness, which she seems to be surrounded by... I know if I was happy, I wouldn't want to sing about depressing pasts, and asshole boyfriends.

barbie songs? hahaha only song near Barbie on her last album is Girlfriend or The Best Damn Thing. people judge the album cause she became girly and blonde.. it's really sad because she's way different from the other singers who lives to show their bodies or their vagina for the paparazzi cameras. avril changed but she still really talent singing live, so much better than before and playing instruments.

@Jaaaide Listen I am all for her new album its a fun kinda party album but she HELPED ALOT of people with these songs Shes not getting kicked in the teeth do people still say i love you do people still buy her albums? the answer is yes I will love her no matter what she does and so will a lot of people but you know there is alot of people who do albums like the best damn thing but so far Avril was the only one to do songs like this AGAIN i will love her NO MATTER WHAT just sayin my opinion

@Jaaaide No it's a matter of music evolution, not her clothing style. it's evolved in something she would reject when she was younger is all. I agree that her two first albums were better than the best damn thing, I used to love all her songs on her albums but I got several I don't like on the best damn thing, I blame Derryck's influence on her

@Sal0ry it's nothing to do with deryck? avril lavigne is her own person and she does what she wants. she gets kicked for having a fun album and being able to experiment. All of a sudden it seems all her 'fans' want her to do is write about personal experiences and write about depressing subjects? Give the woman a break, she's amazing and if you were a true avril fan, you'd support her even though you didn't like all of the album.

But it's the truth, when a woman is in love she picks up influence from the one she loves, it's not about us wanting her to make depressing songs, rock is meant to express feelings she can express herself real good and we all know that but her first and second album were more like herself, and her new album is apparently like the 1st and second, I can't wait.

@Jaaaide no. sorry but you are wrong and thats just it. i used to fucking worship her. her songs were so honest and real and raw not to mention her amazing skills to mix accoustic, pop, rock, a little bit of punk and grunge - all my favourite genres, she really had this 90s style that was just so rare even back then and completely nonexistent now - and she had lots of fun songs back then, naiv songs even but they were never this fake shit shes doing since they forced her to become a sellout ---

Kinda wierd, why did she change? She said she didn't want to become the new Britney Spears which was what her producers wanted her to be. But she still has some of her old punch in her songs from these songs.

If it wasn't her style, why is she like it then?
People change. So her music changed, You can't stay an angry teenager forever. She grew up, fell in love, got married. Her life changed, so her music did. Why sing about teen agnst when you aren't anymore? Why not sing about happiness, which she seems to be surrounded by... I know if I was happy, I wouldn't want to sing about depressing pasts, and asshole boyfriends.
