Yeah I've often wondered in a country place like where you're in could you live on things like ducks, Kangaroos, rabbits etc. that happen to wander on to your property - would the neighbours object if you were to shoot or trap them? Nothing like good quality lean meat for free! In the case of rabbits and kangaroos it would also be helping fix up a pest/overpopulation problem. BTW I just had kangaroo meatballs for dinner, delicious!

Isn't part of being self sustaining to reasonably make use of the resources around you? If the local population can handle it, then duck for dinner makes good sense....and good dinner...be sure to post a vid with your duck recipe ;}
Is that frost on the grass? Oh and we used to get heaps of ducks just over our back fence, they used to live in/around the creek behind us, once there was about 20 all looking for something to eat at our fence!
