I actually think lilac looks gorgeous on pale skin, gives it that very romantic look when paired with other lavender and pink shades. Purples in general look good with brown eyes as well.

It's not so much "playing it up"..

As long as you emphasize just one of the two, either eyes or lips, and keep the other neutral, you're fine. Like, don't do a blue smokey eye and then go with full red lips, lol, go with one of the two and keep the other more fleshy-toned.
