Hey, californiajones! Guess what? Are you in the jungles of India today, or Australia, the land down under today? Do you drive Casey Junior, the little circus engine that could to pull the circus train over the mountain to town in Florida today? Do you say to Casey Junior "All Aboard! Are you ready, Casey?" today? Does Casey Junior say "Yes californiajones, I'm ready!" today?
Disney Fun Fact,u know casey junior is named after famous engineer casey jones,he died in 1900 in a train collision.saving everyone but himself.
casey junior is formerly a passenger engine 240 w/ the main rod on forward driving wheel, also had a bell&wasn't quite as stubby,In his circus work he was a 240 but his rod arrangement changed to the back wheel&his bell was removed, other film he unfortunately crashed after an effort to jump the chasm left by a broken bridge in a storm, thumb up for R.I.P
It's funny--I was obsessed with trains as a kid, and Casey Jr. was a personal favorite. Even now, when it's been at least 15 years since I've seen Dumbo, I have this scene committed to memory, almost frame for frame. Makes me a little weepy, honestly.
I love the fire box flicker. Even though it's a cartoon, Casey Jr. still has the flickering firebox that you would see on a real steam engine. Not many cartoons show a steam engine with a flickering firebox at night. Goes to show how passionate Walt and Ward were about trains.
whenever i couldn't get to sleep when i was a baby, my mom would put on dumbo and i would immediatley fall asleep when i heard the casey jr song. i loved and still love it. and i still even get a lil teary eyed when i watch the part when dumbo visits his mom in the cage and the other animal moms are cuddlin' their lil babies. *sniffle sniffle*
@TheRadicalClan -- I think you'll find that it clearly states in the Wrangler's Handbook for Storing Cartoon Giraffes (Clause 7-b, paragraph 5), that it is EXACTLY the prescribed method. Excerpt: "... whereupon a train journey must be undertaken, cartoon giraffes are to be stored in their freight carriage by having the upper portion of their necks (and therefore, complete heads) exposed to the elements, through two well-placed holes in their frieght car's roof..." Amazing!
When my son first saw this on the Singalong tape, it was a lifechanging experience. We replayed it about thirty times the first day alone. It was all trains after that-- Thomas the Tank Engine, then real train trips together, and in foreign countries, in beautiful sleeper cars overnight. Thank you, Disney, from my family.
it sounds like the train is saying: piping went on piping went on piping went on piping went on i hate watching this scene its so embarrassing!! this is a very embarrassing cartoon i think
Pete, under the Phantom Blot's orders (the Phantom Blot is leader since Maleficent died in RE: Coded) is trying to turn Casey Junior and the whole train into a Heartless train as transport for the Disney Villain Organization. It's up to Sora, Donald, and Goofy (Dumbo is too little to fight now) to stop Pete's plans.
" I Think I Can, I Think i Can, I Think I Can, I Think i Can.. *Slows Down* I.... Thought i could, I thought i could i thought i could, i thought i could.. WOOHOOO!"
I love how they done Casey Jr. Its like he's almost alive but he's really not. Thats how steam locomotives should be animated in cartoons. He's my favorite cartoon charactor in this whole movie.
I think Mrs. Jumbo and Matriarch are the most sexiest female elephants, Mrs. Jumbo because she's so young and gets easily pushed by Matriarch, and Matriarch because of her giant hot butt.
At 1:01 I think it very funny. Haven't seen any single of disney movie and as so I watch them so many times, now today. It funny with that mean Elephant. I remember the mother of Dumbo is mad. Hmm.. You never forget about the classic, and it never get old until they last.
i was trying to figure out why this looked so familiar, then i saw the very ending and recognized it! Dumbo was my favorite movie as a kid, i watched it atleast once a week! thanks for bringing back old memories!
@michigandon Indeed! Years ago the Southern's 4501 made a ferry run from New Orleans to Jacksonville over L&N-SCL track. I went to Tallahassee to ride it home. However, a freight derailment near Pensacola had delayed all eastbound traffic; the steam special did not arrive until nearly sunset. Heading east in the dark, the surrounding countryside and the smoke above were brightly lit whenever the firebox door opened. A fire truck stopped us near Madison to answer a call of a "train on fire!"
when I was a kid I always helped Casey going up that hill, I was like "I think you can" when I watched it on the Disney sing a longs and that owl is like "help Casey up that hill" that's what I did and I was like "yay it worked"
and the end, I love those crows, loved the ending to this movie too
In retrospect a 2-4-0 such as Casey would usullay be a shunting engine and would have difficulty pulling a heavy circus train. but still I wish he had more screen time then he got.
I'm surprised Disney didn't make a movie based on Casey Junior's adventures. Walt was crazy about trains.
As for the 2-4-0 comment, sure that COULD be true, but there was a time where a 2-4-0 pulled the Orient Express. I'm sure Casey could give it more a run for his money.
I don't get something. When the men use the plank to push Matriarch's big sexy butt into the car, I hear creaking noises. Are those creaking noises the plank or the big sexy butt of Matriarch?
0:57 Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! That elephant is really fat. So fat, that her big fat butt got stuck. And it was really crazy at 1:00 when six circus guards came and used the plank to try to shove her big fat butt and almost failed, but they succedeed. That matriarch elephant looked mad at the men at 1:04 even though they helped her big fat butt enter the car.
I love this film so much........... the music is so brilliant.......... i love it when the train cant start, and at the end when dumbo sticks his head out of the window.
my nephs of 4 and almost 2 were this weekend at my house staying the nights. they were singing this the whooole time. now i have it all in my head whole the time. even at work xD they dont realy sing the words, but just the instruments.
but the movie dumbo reminds me of my younger ages :)
he sounds kinda scary, i mean i loved Casey Jr. but his voice gave me the creeps. but what he was SAYING was so darn cute ^_^ "i thought i could i thought i could; woohoo!" go Casey!
