Osamu Tezuka creo Tetsuwan Atomu (Astroboy, Poderoso Átomo, etc) en 1952 y produjo la versión animada en blanco/negro en 1963. Tezuka no pudo adquirir los derechos en 1977 para producir Astro a color, así que tuvo que adaptar la serie, cambiando algunos elementos (nombres, apariencia, etc). Así nació Jet Marte, que es casi un clon de Astro pero no es el mismo personaje.
En 1980 crea finalmente la primera versión a color de Astro Boy.

Well, he was known to treat his characters like actors take Rock for example when he first appeared he was always the young delinquent hero then at times a villain and sometimes an anti-hero.
What happens is that Jetter Mars was made in 1977 by Osamu Tezuka, because he was having trouble with the copyrights of his original Tetsuwan Atom (Astroboy) manga and anime. It was originally meant to be a remake of Tetsuwan Atom in color, it was going to be identical to the manga like the first one, simply it was going to be in color. He couldn't wait for the copyright issue to get solved, he decided to modify his original Tetsuwan Atom stories and characters and Jetter Mars was the result.
jetter mars, or jet marte was created because the creator of astro boy did not want astro boy to be animated in colour at the time, that's why jet marte was created in colour, and astro boy stayed in black and white. I watched the whole series as a kid, although some of the characters of this series look like some of the astro boy series, it is a total different story.
Unlike Astro Boy, who is a superhero robot with seven different powers, this is a story of a robot that has his worries and grows up just like a human child. Mars is a boy named after the god of war in Roman Mythology. Dr. Yamanoue, who created Mars's body, tries to use the robot in military affairs while Dr. Kawashimo, creator of Mars's artificial intelligence, strongly opposes that idea. So this is a story of an android that is torn between its "body for fighting" and "heart for loving."
