@21code On the other hand, Andi sings in short term, take breath between each words but(or as a result) has perfect pitch control. His problem is stablity, not pitch.

He knew that(short-breath singing style is fit great in PC but not in Helloween), certainly, so he had been trying for maintaining sound for longer time.

But, unfortunately, his throat couldn't get over it during Dark Ride era, so from Rabbit tour he started to use falsetto to pitch high note. It was tragedy for him.

But, usually, he didn't show great pitch control or solidity in live.

Well, solidity is matter of his voice shape by day and day.

But pitch control... well, except of some great days like during 89 PFF tour or upper of 92 PBGA tour, he sang a lot of false notes - sometimes flat, sometimes too high.

@Zaekencito....hahaha better you learn more 'bout Helloween. This song is written when Kiske hadn't been in Helloween yet. So the song wasn't made for Kiske too. But Kiske live version is much much better than Deris even deris, as always, sing in lower tone. Check out the pitch control, the solidity, and so on....You can compare both o them in each live version of Heavy Metal Is The Law (The walls of Jericho album) too...So true...Kiske much better. Want some reasons more, ask Tobias Sammet

@21code I never said that they composed this song for Kiske, where did you get that from??... you don't have to be an expert to know that this song is from Walls of Jericho and Kiske wasn't in the band at that time, I'm just saying it was not made for a voice like deris's... he has some bad days in wich he sings in a very sihitty way, though I'm not displeased by the change of singer that Helloween did back in the early 90s, I thinks he's a very acomplished singer for Helloween and a worthy replacement for Kiske

I guess there are not as many Andi haters as you might think. Thing is his voice is just pure pure crap. After PC69 got David Readman as singer I liked them and after Helloween got Deris I stopped listening Helloween, I tried to get into his voice but it scares me away. And he damages and ruins all old Helloween songs with this thing called voice. No one hates Andi, but you like voices or dont and its hard to like Andis voice. I`d prefer Kiske back with Helloween !!!

It's not hard to like it. You're just imaging things. Because you dont like it, it doesnt mean that everyone have same ears. As you may see on tours, concerts live MANY PEOPLE like it. If Deris would be so hard to like, they would be disbanded much earlier, but its the vocalist that keeps the band on. Pure crap... your words, yes :)
