Not to be a toon snob but the Animal Farm film was produced in Britain in 1954 (they're very first one mind you) and was directed by John Halas and Joy Batchelor.

yes. it was a harsh cartoon, as well. surprisingly, it was on the top 100 list in a british tv special, 100 Best Cartoons. i used the villager clips in this film just for the Mob Song segment of my collage
