Hell yea, thats some soulful stuff brother! Man you gotta check out this young guy named CatClemonsOfficial on here. He's bringing back that old school R n B and Hip Hop on guitar. But you killing it bro!
my jaw just dropped this is the fattest bass line in any song and you nailed it!!!! all the double stops with the hammer ons etc all the pinoisms, man love your work!!!!!!
@magnuspater no thanks, i got your message though ;)
the thing is i'm tired of these " how can someone dislike this?" comments (cause there are always dislikes, that's how life goes i guess ;) thanks for the comment, peace out.
Fjord76, I really appreciate what you are doing. Listen, can you shed a bit of light on how you approach learning the tunes. Do you use some kind of slowdowner. I recently came from guitar and it is hard for me to hear the frequencies down there (I can somehow hear the rhythm, but the lows are hard to grasp). Thank you and enjoy your playing as much as we enjoy watching and listening to it!
@TheBonneMaman glad to know it can help :) Slowdowner? what for? it's already slow as hell lol no seriously, listening is the key:i'm sure i've been listening this album hundreds of times focusing or not on the basslines (there so much to listen to:beats, horns, riffs, not to mention the singing ;) and you're right: enjoying is the key :)
@rockonjosh cool to know it might be helpful. I think the main purpose of these vids is to show people that's it's doable; i mean i'm myself very lazy and it's simply by seing people out there covering some stuff that it occured to me that i could do the same.
@Jack458111 thanks but actually, the phenomenons are D and Pino! this tune really is different from the rest of the album:you have either live rythm section based tracks (Playa,Send it on,Chicken,Feel like makin love, spanish joint, Africa) or more linear beat-making based tracks like Devil Pie,L&R, the line, the root. This one is particular cause it seems linear but it ain't;bass & keys are sort of jammin along with vocals (from what i read, the bass track is proly an edit of several takes btw)
@etherjoe505 same thing for me here; thought i knew that bass part pretty well till i decided to learn it...then i realize there were lots of subtle things i hadn't heard (even after 10 years of heavy listening) bass & keys mix so well on that track! D+Pino fan 4ever as well but that's only 5 tracks on Voodoo, one on RH Factor Hardgroove and one on BB King Deuces Wild...so far ;)
