I l;ove your tutorial so far but how did you get to see your hand biped so easly Im using 3ds max 2010 32 bit in the viewport orthographic wireframe i'd like the view to be like yours
hey please reply! i have a small error, i don't know if its supposed to be like it or not but when i rotate the leg, the foot stays in the position it is, e.g. the character is standing upwards feet flat, if i rotate the leg the foot stays facing down while the leg moves? is this meant to be like it or? thanks for a great vid either way!
@TheStickfigureCO The reason the biped moves without the mesh is cause you still have Figure Mode turned on. Once you take that off it should move the mesh with it.
Mate all I can say it Thank you so much! Very clear tutorial on something you need a lot of patience with! Check out the video on my page and you can see what I will be using this for!
noooooooo. I put all the fingers in and it was pretty good and the application closed for some of a problem. It took me 30 minutes to fit the object in the body
what is the best way to do this for solid bipeds? i have a star wars battle droid that i'm trying to rig, but i can't keep everything from looking life like. for instance, the hands will bend when they should rotate around a fulcrum.
does anyone know ho to create more arm links on a biped, i cant seem to be able to replicate the joints of the Horse i made because of a lack of arm links.
can someone help when I select and highlight vertex under Physique modifier some turn blue instead of red and Im unable to move the leg because some vertexes are not being selected
No matter how much i try to adjust the radial scale, it always effects the other leg by dragging the textures with it as well, am i missing something here, also, my legs were made close
@sacredpossession i have the exact same issue. he says to "lock assignments" through the vertices, but the for some reason on mine the vertices wont select...or i cant tell if they are.
I have been through this tutorial so many times but i can still not get it right. I am doing this with a basic block character but when I initialize the biped model with the block model, nothing happens :(
mate im completely confused now....you say at 1.28...if your mesh is just one object then thats fair enough...well thats what i have....you dont say what to do to it? Tutorial has been great so far but im lost at how to do anything after this?
Now, I'm rigging a character but I can't add the eyeballs to the biped node. Whenever I pick the character and the hat I can add it to the biped. Whenever I include the eyeballs into the Physique selection, the little "link to node" button gets unclicked and nothing is added to the biped. What do I do?? The eyes are complex and need to have their components grouped... unless there is another way.
Oh, I forgot - I was reading below, that nothing in the Physique selection can be grouped. So I assume that's the problem with the eyeballs, 'cause they are two groups?
I just want to say man, this tutorial has really helped. You have managed to help me far more with my animation course than my lecturer. I'm a terrible animator and I'm here to pick up on modeling skills so I probably won't get the best grade lol, but I just wanted to express my thanks.
How did you get the officer on your select by name list? After i have push the attach to node button, and pick by name. Then I can only pick Bip parts. And if i do that then my character becomes transparent, and nothing works after that :/ do you know what's wrong ?
sorry for double comment but it will move but the biped isn't inside the figure when i move it and when i only move the feet then the whole thing moves
i have tried this and it is fustrating cause i have done exactly as this shows and i have rigged it. i have attached them to note and trying to mode it but the actual model of the figure i want to animate is moving faster than the biped. also those verticies are not following even if i do this with envelopes :S please help. and btw it is a cod4 model so it it in body glasses and bag there are only 5-6 items there but i think it still should be possible
I have a problem :S After edit the envelopes my characters looks bad, when I move the shoe all the leg look like elastic girl. :S im so pissed please help
If you want to fix the Physique problem when you can't select the man, you have to make sure your mesh is NOT grouped and that no biped parts are selected.
If you want to fix the Physique problem when you can't select the man, you have to make sure your mesh is NOT grouped and that no biped parts are selected.
but yes videofxuniverse is correct too. add modifier physique, click on attach to node, pick bip01. now, u have to click on + sign and click envelopes. and then u work from there.
this is correct! but it seems that most of the problem these guys get is the physique and the biped. everything is correct but, the part when u click on the characters mesh. do not click on biped. instead of going to modifier and physique. go to modifier and skin. and go to add bones, select the rest of ur biped. and the only part left is fixing the envelopes. and everyone should be on the same page.
can u please tell me how u made the body parts link together .... coz u can't make more than one parent for an object by linking .... do u just put them together and start rigging ?? ... or did u make the body parts move together and then rig it .... pleaaaaaaaaaase help
My biped wont apply i click physique and pick the right name and click initialize and i move a part of it and it still moves like it wasnt applied at all
2 Questions, this can bu used on a regular poly aswell i guess? And second, the biped does not have to be inside the body exactly if you are using a model without lims for instance? Will the biped be shown in the final render or do i have to hide it first? Thanks in advance.
