  • Fort Collins Colorado Live 1969

  • number 3 in my top five stones songs

  • #3 in my top five stones songs

  • Punk!!!!!!

  • Got to crank up the volume on the computer speakers with this You Tube video because the effect of this live performance version of this song has that aura on it

  • The extreme politically correct people today would not like the lyrics to this song

  • @BBQFanNo1 Fuck them Prius-driving, tree-hugging bitches anyway...

  • I have always loved this version!!!!

  • i pee at about 3:45

  • As always with Rolling Stones, two words to explain : Mick Taylor

  • Watts is really kicking the beat here, solid stuff.

  • @S2Cents> Listen wanker, do not put words in my mouth. I never said I was a conservative. You are obviously American.

  • Wow!! You'd probably get arrested for lyrics like that today...wimpy liberal bollocks.

  • @kbinco So conservatives are down with rock 'n roll? Fuckin' lol to that bullshit.

  • A famous anecdote relates that during the mid-1980s, an intoxicated Jagger phoned Watts' hotel room in the middle of the night asking "Where's my drummer?". Watts reportedly got up, shaved, dressed in a suit, put on a tie and freshly shined shoes, descended the stairs, and punched Jagger in the face, saying: "Don't ever call me your drummer again. You're my fucking singer!"

  • Watts has spoken openly about a period in the mid-1980s when his previously-moderate use of alcohol and drugs became problematic: "My drug and alcohol problems were] my way of dealing with [family problems... Looking back on it, I think it was a mid-life crisis. All I know is that I became totally another person around 1983 and came out of it about 1986. I nearly lost my wife and everything over my behaviour."

  • Watts' personal life has outwardly appeared to be substantially quieter than those of his bandmates and many of his rock and roll colleagues; onstage, he seems to furnish a calm and bemused counterpoint to his flamboyant bandmates.

  • Ever faithful to his wife Shirley, Watts consistently refused sexual favours from groupies on the road; in Robert Greenfield's STP: A Journey through America with The Rolling Stones, a document of the 1972 American Tour, it is noted that when the group was invited to the Playboy Mansion during that tour, Watts took advantage of Hugh Hefner's game room rather than frolic with the women.

  • Madison Square Garden seemed to bring out the best in everyone who performed there including Led Zeppelin,Elvis Presley, and Many Others. Even The Fight Of The Century Muhammed Ali Vs Joe Frazier in 1971.

  • I agree with all positive comments. I've had this record since 1970 or 71. Big difference between the Stones and most bands. In most rock bands the drummer lays down the beat and the band follows. In the Stones; Keith makes the rythmn and Charlie...and everyone else....follows! Not just any drummer could do that! That's why so many of Charlies' funky little licks come AFTER the beat or the stanza or the change....like after-fthoughts. That's one reaon it's so FUNKY! Long live Charlie Watts!

  • @swiggy58a On 14 October 1964, Watts married Shirley Ann Shepherd, whom he had met before the band became successful. Still married after 47 years, they share one daughter, Seraphina Watts, born on 18 March 1968. Watts also has a granddaughter, Charlotte.

  • The person who disliked this falls asleep before midnight.

  • I'm a big Beatles fan but I wish they had performed live like this. This song live is AWESOME

  • @vegavairbob I understand why the Beatles stopped touring, but yeah we didnt see their true live potential...I'd love to see Abbey Road live!!

  • That was live to, i don't think it can get any better that huh?

  • the best part is easily when Mick Taylor's scorching guitar solo comes out of nowhere, perfect.

  • stones live and still going long live these rockers

  • Fuckin' A...That's Rock and Roll!

  • I came back from Vietnam in November 1970, went to work for the airlines at LAX and got myself an ass kicking apartment (with Mike Bowers) At Oakwood Gardens in Seal Beach, California. Got my 1st credit card in June '71 (Mastercard) with a $500 limit and immediately ran out and bought a new amp (Scott) for my stero system. Remember playing this so loud so often, the security guards knew me by my first name. It was all just a great time to be young and alive and, well, good looking! :)

  • use to listen to it in 1975, after school, still sounds as good today

  • That is one slow spinning record.

  • What I love best about this live version is that at about 5:40, right after the guitar riff, you can hear someone in the crowd shout "GODDAMN!" follow by a loud "YEAAAAH!" Then again after the next riff... I can just picture the sound guys hearing that while editing the track, and going "Dude, we have to get that. We've got to isolate that!"

  • When Keith puts Midnight Rambler started with the coolest riff (along with the start of Jumping Jack Flash) ever made, it goes right in the balls, heart and soul

  • One day i drank beer and put this song on repeat and after 7 or 8 beers this song still sounded great!

  • @styx4ever1963 Its always better when you drink some beers !!! ROCK ON

  • This song is like fine wine it may grow old but always sounds good!

  • Redcreem, im afraid you nailed it right there ,i was gonna put something timeless & pithy down but after your piece i couldnt think of anything but another slug of whiskey & turn that sucker UP!

  • best version , agree they is kicking ass on the ya's ya's album. i think i burned mine out. love all the songs on this album. thanks for doing this for all the rest of us man. your cool, and if you run for president you got my vote.

  • Loved the Stones in their heyday, and Ya Ya's is arguably the greatest live album ever made... but I have to say I've always been disappointed whenever I saw them live. The WHO in their prime were a far better live act IMO, and always put on a phenomenal show .

  • @maltbeaver As far as the Stones live, I was at a couple of their L.A. Forum Nov.'69 shows, and I would rate it at the top 3 of all the concerts I went to, and there were maaaaaany in the 60's-70's. I would say that that was them at their peak of their prime as far as live shows. And never, at least after M.Taylor left topped that. As far as The Who, I saw them, among other times, during their Who's Next Tour. That would also fit in the top 3 best live shows I've ever seen.

  • no group came close in the 60s 70s playing live there isant many today who can compete with the stones

  • @percy123100 Huh, I love the Stones (they were and still are great live performers) but some 60s, 70s and 80s bands were not bad to see live : Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Clash... to name a few.

  • great great live version

  • there's a bit missed off the begining of this where a woman in the crowd says - 'Paint it Black....Paint it Black you Devil!!'...xD ...the 60's eh??? xD

  • The Stones took Blues to a whole new level, FUSING it with their own brand of ROCK. this album proves it. Imagine how much better it would have been if Brian had lived. There are 5 tracks on YA YAS, that are the best blues/rock recordings ever made, Carol, Love in Vain, Little Queenie, ( 2 CHUCK BERRY TRACKS) Stray Cat and Midnight R. Midnight is a lot better than the album v. When the song slows down and Micks creeping into some bitches bedroom, is one of MUSIC GREATEST MUSICAL MOMENTS. OOTW.

  • Only 2 songs have come close to finding that BLACK GROOVE sung by white bands, and this is one, the other being ' ROLLING AND A TUMBLING ' BY CREAM. This is one of 2 LIVE albums that are the best in the world for BLUES/ROCK, the other being JIMI HENDRIX live at MONTEREY, IN 67. The Stones started up because of Brian,Keith and Micks love of Rythm and Blues bands from the deep south of the US, Elmore James, Little Walter, Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf, Bo Diddley, and many more, check dem out.

  • @redcreem

Hey Jackass... Jimi Hendrix was black! Does it matter anyway? Have you heard of Stevie Ray Vaughan?

  • We sing this at blues night :O

  • this is the coolest video EVER! D: how did you make this??? D:

  • @rockmyeyes You rock!

  • The best Live Stones song. They usually just had fun on stage and rarely played their best. When Mick Taylor was with them, they were great live. I guess that says something about Taylor's influence on Keith and Jagger. Just my opinion. Taylor kept it all good.

  • i want a new stones, i was not in this world in 1972!

  • God Damn! Whoo!
