  • one question: HAS GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE EVER BEEN BETTER THAN CAPITALIST, FREE ENTERPRISE, COMPETITION FUELD CAPITALIST HEALTH CARE!!?!??!?!?!?!? NOPE!

  • The swedish(socialistic-ish) model is pretty sweet. Makes everyone happy.

  • @Searchinganswers WELL THEN MOVE THERE!

  • Its kind of sad and kind of funny to here people rambling on and on about socialism.

The Reagan Administration had more protectionist trade policies than all the other post-war administrations combined

His administration poured huge amounts of capital into the steel industry, the automotive industry, high-technology industry (Remember the "Star Wars" program). This is just another fine example of "rugged individualism" at its best.

  • @metalreign81 Hey idiot... Reagan created 40 million jobs. Reagan made this country strong. Everything you have today that is great is because of Reagan. Otherwise you might be speaking Russian right now.

Socialism will never happen in America. Too many Americans in the way of those 600 tyrants ruling over the public.

  • @kubrickzghost Reagan also gave millions of illegals amnesty and increased the deficit every year he was in office. Do all teabaggers suffer from amnesia? Haven't they heard this Republican bullshit before? I guarantee you your republican heroes will increase the deficit. After all, they are professional liars. You'll see in a few years. Businesses create jobs. The government only "temporarily" stimulates job growth through either tax cuts or government spending, creating deficits.

  • I would support malpractice reform and tort reform if the other side were willing to allow for the creation of the public option. Politics is all about compromise, its not about me getting my way, or you getting your way. Its what can we do to compromise and find a happy medium.

I don't see anyone on the right offering any solutions how to fix the problem of over 40 million Americans probably a quarter of which are children, going without coverage.

  • My mother works for the state (part of probation & parole). She gets her insurance through the government and is better covered than anybody making a comparable salary in the private sector.

Remember Ronald Reagen, when he was governor of California he used to go around reading somber speeches, written for him by someone else,

and he would claim in these speeches that if Medicare was passed we'd all be telling our grandchildren what freedom was like. Sound familiar?

  • People don't understand that gov't and too much insurance is what drove up costs in the first place. Lobbying + government = corporatism. That is what has made the companies lazy. Also, we need to address the costly government regulations, the malpractice costs, the abuse of insurance. The public health option is NOT going to solve much. We need to address the problems, caused by the government, that made health care expensive in the first place. Then maybe you can talk about a public option.

  • the voice over is different in the final ad, this has way too many buzz words and is over-simplifying the problem. "Competition is as American as apple pie."

  • what a load of bs. Thinking outside the current system of dependence on the cheap, desperate labor that is the foundation of this consumerist culture would be a good start; where are your things made? How about the community that receives the healthcare take over the local hospitals, make healthcare education free and accessible, and create a healthcare system that accounts for the needs of it's people. This bureaucratic bullshit has to stop, profiting off sickness and death is insane.

  • Heather Graham can take her pathetic leftist views and shove them up these Turk's asses. America's not only sick and tired of the ridiculous Hollywood left, but absolutely fed up with Obamunism, his complicit cohorts, and pretty much all of the leftist mainstream media who was trained and indoctrinated into hating the America they live in by their so-called "College Professors!"

Heather!! Just like Babs Streisand, we love ya.. ya got some nice tits, a weird face... but..

  • We don't give a flying fuck what YOU think!

  • The Democratic Party: The party that feigns empathy for Gov. Power & Gov. Control of the people. Infested w/ evil doers, mentally ill liberals, tyranny, voter fraud, racists, intolerant, tax &spend, communists, socialist Gov. healthcare, elite morons, anti life, conservative haters, anti-Christian, anti-Muslim, feminist infidels, America haters, Obummers fascists demorats, Maoists, liberal Republicans, ACORN, Hollywood, leftist media. Do not trust them. Crush them, destroy them. Vote them out.

  • say bye to your health care wish you lazy fucks that don't want to work and suck off the system . Poor Ted is rollin over in hell . Mary Jo is smiling from above

  • Comment removed

  • lol, I love it.

  • The Republican Party: The party that feigns empathy for free markets and less government power while screaming at the top of their lungs whenever they lose. Infested with evil doers, mentally ill conservatives, voter fraud, racists, intolerant, deregulate and spend on the rich, fascists, radical religious fundamentalists, anti-choice, liberal haters, anti-atheist, anti-first amendment, hypocritical, projecting right-wing pigs. Do not trust these people. Crush them, destroy them. Vote them out.

  • Great reply put you should have countered the cracks about Obama with counter-cracks about Rush Limbaugh.

  • They WERE voted out in '06, they lost the big house. The Democrats have a government monopoly, yet you still bemoan Republicans? Are Democrats so ineffective that they cannot govern with their "super-majority" unless there is no opposition whatsoever? History can show you how well one-party systems work...

Keep in mind that 45% of Americans identified themselves as Republicans in 2008. Crush them? DESTROY them?

It's generally inadvisable to alienate roughly half of the nations populace...

  • Maybe you missed the fact that my post was a satire response to the inanely ridiculous comment another person posted earlier?

I think the Dems ARE weak and ineffective. That's why it sucks so badly right now. And honestly, over 50% of Americans either don't believe in evolution or have doubts about it too, so I really don't give a shit about alienating a bunch of morons who are too stupid to know what's in their best interest.

  • Comment removed

  • And that right there is the problem. Thinking that you know what's in their best interest better than they do.

If they want to believe the world was shat into existence by a passing seagull, LET THEM. It don't make it true, but if it makes them happy believing that bullshit, why do you care?

  • Two problems with your use of satire: written satire is difficult to distinguish from sincerity, and your satire is not unlike the actual words of leftist radicals

I dont know whether that was a misuse of words on your part, or if thats your world view, but you came across as an arrogant, elitist prick. That attitude doesnt help convince the peons to change their views, it makes them resentful.

  • It probably would have been much more obvious if you could still see the original post by us4000ad, which has since been removed because of its -6 comment rating.

Again, it was satire. If I sounded like an arrogant, elitist prick, then I accomplished exactly what I intended to do, because that was precisely how the original poster presented his opinion.

  • Damn it all. Once again, the limitations of written expression have fucked me over. When you first posted, mocking us4000ad, you sounded like a nut job for whom politics are the be-all-and-end-all.

Thats a good satire even though its sad that you were able to keep it so true to someones actual words.

But in your response you talk about morons who don't know what's in their best interest.

That was what my "arrogant prick" remark was pertaining to. Forgive my previous imprecision.

  • wow, who 'shat' in your Fritos, Fri-assholes? see the reason why some of us care is that dumb fucking, Bible thumpin' Repig retards shouldn't be allowed to vote on ANYTHING because, well, they're ignorant/ inbred mo-rans like you, that's why!

BTW, you come across as one of the biggest dicks in the history of the internetz too. also

  • If only you knew how big of an asshole YOU look like...

If you were trying to tell someone else that they were a dick, you out-did them in the biggest way possible.

And by the way, saying that people shouldn't be able to vote, that's REAL American of you...

  • oh did the widdle fishy take somethin' personally? eat a bag of poison rat dicks, douchebag...sweet jeebus you Repiglickers are sooooo stoopid...GET A BRAIN MO-RAN! :)

  • There you go again. It doesn't take much intelligence to resort to slandering someone without actually engaging anything they said with counter-arguments.

By the way, "repiglickers"? I assume that by the political nature of our little "discussion", and a few similar consonants, you were insinuating that I identify as republican.

If only you could know how wrong you are.

Therein lays the problem: you don't know, so you further highlight your ignorance with un-intellectual slander.

  • oh, fuck off Fishfuck...you are sooo intelekshuel it must makes yer hed hert, fuckhead! (see I know ho much you like to be 'fucked' with! :)

  • That's right, keep showing us how brilliant you are. Pardon me if I don't respond to any of your further "emotional releases" but Ive heard more profound retorts from 12 year olds.

Seeing as how you are incapable of anything other than personal insults, youre time would likely be better spent trolling through reality show vids and attacking other single-digit rejects like yourself who will sink to your level.

  • yeah, yeah , yeah...like I'd give any credence to the asinine bullshit that comes out of your mentally retarded cranium...I'd suggest remedial education but something tells me you're pretty hopelessly brain damaged!?

  • haha you fail. There was no voter fraud. Do you even understand that facist and socialist are on the opposite sides of the scale. Omg what an idiot. Thats why your party is a minority, because its the party of dumbasses.

  • us4000ad: a super-wack yet insanely retarded troll who does not know the difference between socialism and fascism.

    Good job, bud!

  • That's a nice clip, but I think its false advertising. The bills currently in congress raise taxes immediately and don't offer full benefits until 2013. If this ad were more accurate, Heather would be showing up to the race 3 years after it started. (Though I admit I would enjoy watching it).

  • I want to oof heather graham

  • I love this add!!! I especially like the Chinese actor trying to catch the campaign!!

    That was funny as hell!!

  • Awesome. Keep chipping away...

  • Why would I get my political views from celebrities? Are you stupid?

  • You took advice from Ronald 'Bedtime for Bozo' Reagan on healthcare, didn't you?

  • I wasn't even born when Reagan was in office you moron. What the hell are you talking about?

  • Hypocritical morons. You wouldn't get it.

  • You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

  • This is bull shit 70% my ass

  • Another typical, stupid, Hollywood CUNT that doesn't know her place. Why does the media even give this inbred bitch the time of day for? Who the fuck cares that this idiot supports the islamic, foreigner's health plan (joke)?? By the way, who the FUCk is heather Graham?? I don't her by name, so she can't possibly be that meaningful! It's not like this skinny BITCh is a "Jennifer Anniston" or anything.

  • Wow...anger issues...

  • Yeah...."anger issues!" Angry over the weak, spineless, soft-centered joke this country has become, and, anger at the scum of the earth media for giving losers like this unknown the time of day. You're not upset??? Are you content with the way we are/what we've become? Apparently, you are. Must not be a parent, eh?

  • I'm not even American, but it's bloody fascinating watching you guys blow fuses like this. You seem unable to articulate a decent, valid argument that could stand up in a public forum. Your argument is based on opinion, and...as I've said...anger. And no, I'm not content on the way the world is going because we could be so much better as a species, and instead we're busy fucking each other because of skin colour, prosperity and religion. We're acting like savages, and that just shows us up.

  • Then, if you were here in our shoes (in America) what would you do to make things better, when nobody will listen to you? When nobody cares about anyone but themselves. When the people that are supposed to make our lives better are nothing but greedy criminals?

  • Your asking me to fix the whole society for you? I wouldn't even know where to begin, because the rot seems too run deep. Not in the people, but in the absolute corruption that goes along with money. Don't get me wrong, it seems to be a problem with all capitalist societies. But there's also strong ideological divisions in your country, and those are a lot harder to heal. The problem being that they're used to play various factions off against each other...

    This needs it's own essay.

  • well said...

  • if this ad was realistic the insurance companies would be runners, and the government option would be a nazi

  • Love this ad! And it tells it like it is!

  • LOL, why don't you get the fuck out of my country?

  • Heather Graham ... I can't think of a movie she's been in where she isn't 1) nude, 2) having sex with someone,or 3) a prostitute

  • What's your pont? You know it's stupid but what is it?

  • Comment removed

  • that they should find a better advocate for their cause than a woman whose main contribution to society has been exposing herself on film.

  • And that's bad because........?

  • you want to get advice about reforming 1/6 of our economy, a near-trillion in the next decade and much more in the out-years from an individual whose only talent is playing pretend on film and often simulating sexual intercourse or appearing nude in film? go for it.

  • No.

I mean, what's wrong with simulating sex and appearing nude in film?

  • heather graham looks yummy

  • MSNBC, CNN, & BRAVO? They should pay to air it on local television stations where it's needed most. There are still a lot of people out there that don't have cable.

  • I agree, it is preaching to the choir

  • Yo! George Soros.. Move on your own self, and get out of my country. GO HOME!

  • I love Heather Graham even more now.

  • actually, she's a devil for having taken the dreaded 'Bush Tax Cuts (for the Rich)" and not paying her fair share. Sure, she could overpay her taxes to compensate, but do you really think she did that? Probably not.

  • I love Heather Graham.

  • When Cenk did the "Oh MoveON" voice he sounded like Glenn Beck.

  • It's great to see people finally coming together and making a stance for reform!

  • Yes let's reform the system. Not turn it over to big government run by the very big business you say controls it now.

  • Obama is spineless . There will never be a public option. The legislation that will pass will be a watered down meaningless reform that will not lower my premiums and will not insure everyone

  • If it costs "X" number of dollars to insure someone, then why would we lower your premiums below that cost and then who makes up the difference?

  • Who determines the "X" number of dollars ?? the insurance co's ofcourse. They make up the difference by making less profit. You make it sound like the X is a fixed amount that can't be changed. So, the executives make less and if they have to lay off some staff, tough shit, that's capitalism

  • Lay off the coolaid. It's the GAO (General Accounting Office) non partisan. They make estimates, and usually they are lower than reality.

We need to open the insurance business, and not close it in. I want Geico like companies to be able to offer it across the US. I want market forces to determine who gets what, and not governments. I want people to have choice not governments or companies. Single payer is no choice.

  • Geico doesn't sell health insurance just for the record. Offering insurance across state lines is a fine idea but it will not stop the ridiculous increase in premiums.

Insurance co's will just continue to take bigger profits. As long as there is a profit motive in health care, you will not see any changes. I'm all for free market .. The public option would be a "choice" not mandatory .If ins co's want to compete, they will need to lower their premiums.

  • Bigger profits means what? Just looking at their gross profits is rather meaningless. They serve a lot of people, I'd expect their profit to be large. Their profit margin is a better analysis of their success, and 3-5% I hear isn't much if the avg US profit margin is around 8%. Insurance pays for care, so stopping care costs from rising seems like a more logical approach. Public option is not a choice, because everyone will subsidize it. Businesses, insurance companies, individuals who opt out.

  • "stopping care costs from rising" - that's a great idea. Now, how do you do that ??

  • stop the cost rising step by step, so nobody in the private interest notices. why is it that in some places in the US healthcare is twice as expensive, but the people are not any healthier? unnecessary tests, hospital-biomedical company contracts (to continue using unnecessary tests), price fixing i'm pretty sure, etc. a law i would propose is that no matter where you live, there is a maximum you can be charged, and a minimum you will receive. that would be a good start.

  • make the patient/consumer more involved in the payment process. many of us (like myself) have gotten used to paying a co-pay and never knowing the actual costs of the doctor visit or medical procedure being done. say, if more people had health savings accounts (self funded or from an employer) and had catastrophic insurance on top of that, for basic care they'd pay on their own. They might make different, cost-effective choices and suppliers might charge less because they would be payed up front

  • The insurance companies are exempt from anti-trust regulations that all other companies have to abide by. By not exempting them they would fall under the commerce clause of the federal guidelines. All 1300 insurance companies could compete against eachother as opposed to closed state monopolies of just a few choices. THAT"S CAPITALISM.

  • Excellent comment mickeysears :)

    :P

  • Did you honestly think that was the goal?

  • Well Joe, I'm just a one of the simple minded so yeah I did think that was the goal.

  • I like how in the end they show that the private companies are keeping up as in if public option gets in the race, they wont get smoked ... they will find a way to keep up too, fat and out of shape as they might be. also the fact that they all had running jerseys on underneath but because nobody was competing, they were all slacking ... but that they are ready for a race if they are compelled to.

  • It's airing on MSNBC? That's wasting money, MSNBC viewers already get it, put it on Fox or something.

  • Why not air it on Fox News? Since that is the most watched news network, that would seem to make sense. A lot of Fox news viewers are so dumb that they just might support the public option because they saw it adverstised on Fox. They should also do an ad with the clincher: "The God of the Holy Bible wants you to support the public option"

  • Using anti big government slogans doesn't cover the fact that people are getting raped by the current system. Take your stupid wing nut slogans and peddle them somewhere else.

  • They need to take our health back from the insurance co's who don't have a vested interest in helping those who need heathcare the most. Why would you trust those that are making a profit out of your misery. Wake UP!. Congress gets 70% of their healthcare from Government and it's considered the best in the land. I pay out the ass to my insurance co and it's crap. They try get out of coverage left and right and make it a hassle to get anything.

  • not only do i now want the Public Option... i now WANT TO FUCK the Public Option

  • The video is based on the lie that insurance companies determine the cost of the health care.

  • why do you even try anymore? everyone knows you are full of shit.

  • Yeah, insults make a poor argument. Tell me, how do insurance companies determine the cost of health care in this country?

  • collusion, price fixing....

ive responded to your comments dozens of times and have been met with your insults so dont give me that shit. Your a troll. thats all you do and most of us know that you are full of shit...

  • How do insurance companies fix the prices of HEALTHCARE? They are not providers. Hospitals, doctors, and testing facilities are the one's who set prices, not insurance companies.

  • thats partly what i meant by collusion...private hospitals, Big pharm and insurance companies...

they fix the prices of insurance coverage...

certainly there are ways to cut costs...but it dosent matter how much health care costs if your insurance company looks for ways to not provide full coverage or simply dosent cover it at all or removes you from coverage all together...

private docs and hospitals, and curtail the insurance companies shennagigans is basically the public option

  • So now it is a big conspiracy between Big insurance and Big hospital and Big pharm! It does not even occur to you that the problem is BIG GOVERNMENT. Do you know what percentage of the population is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, and other government healthcare programs?

  • Medicare covers 43 million and Medicaid cover 49 million. Without accounting for overlap this is about 1/3 of the population. Government does contribute but it's only part of the problem. Why else does it work so well in other countries where government is all over it?

  • What makes you think it works so well in other countries? Because the TV told you so?

  • Sure, certain TV news does tell me that. As well as polls held in other countries about citizen satisfaction about the healthcare they get. It's also cheaper then what the US government pays for healthcare that doesn't even cover everyone.

  • how is government contributing to the sky rocketing cost of health care...

so Big Government caused insurance rates to go up 100% during the Bush admin?

the other guy answered your questoin with the stats so I dont really need to address that...but the real answer to your question is: not nearly enough...

  • Rates are only a reflection the increase in the costs of healthcare. You cannot lower healthcare costs by beating up the insurance companies.

Medicare, Medicaid, and all the other government run healthcare programs FAIL to pay the full cost for the care provided to patients. Where do you think the providers make up the losses?

First step in really fix healthcare is making the practice of charging different prices to different individuals illegal. Everyone should pay the same price.

  • Collusion between private hospitals, Big pharm and insurance companies...? Only Insurance companies now enjoy Anti trust protection. Collusion between all these entities violates Anti-Trust laws. If this is really going on then where is your precious government? Unless of course, they are colluding as well. You will then willingly turn over total control to the very people you're trying to protect yourself against. Smart move.

  • The government is slow and inefficient. It would have been more accurate if they had a snail playing the Public Option.

Which actor would you have playing the U.S. Post Office or DMV?

  • TranCendenZ - you don't like USPS or the DMV? My letters go cross-country in 2 days reliably. The DMV has my records, and won't deny me driver's coverage on a pre-existing condition (unless I'm an incorrigible drunk). I'm OK with both those organizations, and would be with a Public Option.

  • audadvnc: You're not looking at the BIGGER picture. The US Postal Service just reported a net loss of $2.4 billion for the third quarter. I don't even use USPS--so why should my tax dollars go towards that failing organization that loses BILLIONS of our tax dollars every year?

I pay my bills online, I send my letters via e-mail, and I use UPS and FedEx to send packages.

  • just because YOU pay your bills online,, don't mean everybody does, or even aught to, the usps has been around since before your time, and has been essential for american growth, yeah, lets just forget the MILLIONS of jobs lost if we lose the usps.

  • Why should your tax dollars go to subsidies for a failing insurance industry? You are a part of the problem because people like you push numbers like the postal numbers and use them as your evidence of why the government will fail. So once upon a time someone made the argument of competition in mailing is American, yet you use a recent setback as your proof of why competition in healthcare is un-American or destined to fail.

  • Ezekiels1: What about the FACT that Medicare/Medicaid is going bankrupt? It is about to fail like a Ponzi scheme. Please watch this 20/20 news report titled, "John Stossel ABC News 20/20 Why Medicaid and Medicare feels like a Ponzi Scheme" at this YouTube link:

    /watch?v=8l2ZE4v9kw4

  • a Ponzi scheme as in people pay in, RECEIVE unreasonably high returns each year and are none the wiser until it implodes? That's what happened in the last ponzi scheme that I have heard of. I believe the angle you are taking is one where the people are paying in and receiving minimal returns if nothing. That sounds like healthcare NOW! I have a 12K policy that only paid $16 towards my eye exam, does that meet your criteria for a ponzi scheme? I am not picking on you, this is different!

  • Ezekiels1: There are many different insurance companies to choose from. If you're not happy with your current situation, then change it. If your job has crappy benefits, then get a different job. You should shop around in the same way that you shopped around for car insurance. If you wait around for the government or the rest of society to solve your problems, then you'll only be extremely disappointed in the end.

  • Spoken like a true drone which must have a really sore asshole.

  • TruthNotReligion: I'm extremely happy with my situation. The only one who is sore is you. Don't describe me as a "drone." I'm a strong individual. The only drones are those losers in life who expect government to take care of them.

  • The plan is employer based through United Healthcare. I am a college grad I make enough to pay loans, healthcare, car note, auto insurance, etc. I have a good job, nonetheless your solutions are impractical because unemployment is near 10% and its employer based so I cannot choose much... It is unreasonable to say one should shop around especially with an employer based system like we have.

  • I'm for the public option, but i really didn't like that lousy commercial.. it reeks of propaganda.. but it's the good one..

It just seems kind of low budget, not a good director for this kind of advert..

  • this ad only makes me want Heather Graham....

okay, it wants me to push for THE PUBLIC OPTION more.

  • this ad only makes me want a burger

  • was that jizz that covered the Asian health insurance guy or were my eyes deceiving me? rofl

  • hilarious, Love this ad!!!

  • Ana is looking sooooooo HOT. I JUST HAVE TO SAY IT!

  • Awesome Ad!

  • is this going to air on Fox News ?

  • What caught my eye about this commercial is, that they end up sprinting alongside oneanother. They didn't want outright war. They tried to make it look like what they said, a competion.

Well made, great that ppl are getting behind this. It's getting harder not to deliver by the day. Love that:-)

  • Great advert!

  • The sad part is that Heather Graham almost lost to those fatties. XD l0l!!!

  • perfect ad!

  • Damn, I was already for the public option, but now I want to bang the public option! No, seriously, I really want to tap that.

  • But Faux News says 60% of people don't want the public option. Could Faux News be full of shit?

  • That would be YES!

  • What they mean is, 60% of the 100 or so people they asked don't want the public option. The wider American public need decent healthcare and a public option.

  • They asked 100 people working at fox news. The 40% saying otherwise were fired afterward

  • LOL!

  • I want that public option sooo bad O.O

  • I want public option! I want her. it.

  • The problem with American capitalism in general is that there's only a perception of competition. The biggest companies, ala Walmart et al, crush all their competition, because they're large enough to do so.

Even needing to resort to the idea of a Public Option is somewhat regrettable, but we gave private industry no rules, and they ran amok in general. Banks, Health, etc. Most industries shot themselves in the foot with greed.

  • have you seen "capitalism: a love story" yet?

  • Yep. And I think Moore was close, but not quite. At least based upon the interviews he's given after the fact. He seems to think Capitalism itself is the problem, whereas I say we need the ghost of Teddy Roosevelt to come back and bust some trusts, the way the ol' Trustbuster used to.

It's funny how the Republicans used to be the one to do that.

  • The reason is because there are so many industry regulations and more pointless regulations which make it impossible for small business emerge and compete. We dont have real capitalism or free markets, we havent in a long time.

  • HA! American capitalism reached its heights when they kept giant industries from becoming institutions that were "too big to fail." Once they "turned the bull loose", Hell followed soon after. The middle class started dying in the 80s.

  • Wow, what a blatantly ignorant comment. Free market capitalism is all about if you fuck up, you fail and you go out of business. Kaynesian (economics of Bill Clinton and most all Democrats) and Socialist (Obama) policies are what the "bail" outs and "not letting" the giants fail are all about. Subsidizing failing companies and industries is big government, not free markets. Thats all Obama is doing, subsidizing EVERYTHING including and mostly toxic industry. The middle class comment= unfounded.

  • No, what happens is that when you let an industry get too big, like the banks had, the entire global market leans upon them too heavily, and when they collapse, they drag the entire planet down with them. We COULD have let the banks fail, but there wouldn't be anything to take their place. If there had been a competitive marketplace in the first place, there would've been options.

What you want is AnarchoCapitalism, which is as stupid as Russian Communism.

  • What?! I am NOT in favor of AnarchoCapitalism and there is no way for you to even draw that conclusion. You are worse than a fucking politician. The only place for government in the economy is protect the market from monopolies and coercion. The difference between free-market capitalism and "state capitalism" is the difference between "peaceful, voluntary exchange" and a collusive partnership between business and government that uses coercion to subvert the free market. Which we had under Bush.

  • Lol dude... You can call the president a Socialist, but you can't take getting called an extremist yourself, eh?

Now, you say you want to deter monopolies, which are the same problem as a "trust" which the largest banks in America currently hold, amongst other problem industries. You're calling for a lack of regulations, that's where it's fair to call you out.

Finally, since you've taken this argument to some immature extremes, with the name calling and whatnot, I'm dunwitcha.

  • DAMN!!! Heather Graham is smmmmmmmmmokin'! I need some of her "Public Option"!!!

  • What does that even mean?

  • We Americans call that a "joke"- I thought you guys had them in Canada too...

  • No, no we don't have jokes in Canada. We got maple syrup, beavers, and motha fuckin' trees, got a problem with that?!

  • I like maple syrup ON beaver- Mmmmmmm, two great tastes that taste great together-

  • and crucial chronic

  • I understand that you intended for it to be a joke. It's just a really bad joke that doesn't make any sense.

  • Comment removed

  • Great idea for an ad. Very well done.

  • Keep running sexy ladies

  • lol @ how slow the public option is running to seem fair x3 with that body she should be able to smoke them.

  • congress needs a toll free number !! what the fuck is this ?? one cruise missle could pay for a 100 lines for a yr

  • i'm for the public option...but why would you get stupid ass heather graham as the celebrity endorsement? she's the dumbest human being on the face of the earth. she believes in witch craft for god sake! this can only hurt the cause in my opinion.

  • Gee, I wonder why is not going to air on FOX XDDD

  • I have come to the conclusion that I would sleep with the public option.

  • I would give you 10 thumbs up if I could lol.

  • I like how they also showed private insurance keeping pace with the public option at the end of the commercial... even though it's fat and bloated, it can compete if it wants to.

  • That is an excellent ad!

    Heather Graham is scrumptious.

  • What a great ad

  • Ok what u just mentioned does make healthcare cost up but u forgot to mention is about the paycheck CEO's get of all these industries. how about one guy who make half a million dollars an hour. THAT DRIVE THE COST UP. Skyrocketing drug prices DRIVE THE COST UP. Lack of competition DRIVES THE COST UP. Your weak @ss points dont drive cost up that much. If u ask me it only drives about 20% of cost up but rest of 80% is what i mentioned and u forgot to mention.

  • Well, industry regulations imposed by government agencies are one of the main reasons drug prices are skyrocketing. Exemption from Anti-Trust laws and people not shopping around effect lack of competition. Nobody in the health care industry makes half a million dollars an hour, thats an absurd exaggeration. So basically you called me points weak yet your points were all my points in a different form. Basically, its all governments fault. The free market will fix it, not more government.

  • There is a CEO of a healthfcare industry who makes 500,000 an hour. and most of the general CEO's of healthcare industry make millions of dollars a year. on top of billion of dollars in profit for company. HOW? Denying care for people who needs it and droping care for people who are getting expensive.

2nd Lack of regulation has made so called free market to go on rampage and rape USA from top to bottom. Richer are getting rich. Poor and middle class people are getting broke and dying.

  • HA! Who are you trying to kid? The free market will fix it? The free market wouldn't let 5% of babies and children get health insurance because they are too fat or skinny and will add to their bottomline.

  • None of you people know anything. Michael Moore and John Stewert tell you the free markets are the root of all evil and you just accept it. REGULATIONS tons and TONS of RIDICULOUS regulations are what make it impossible for small business to emerge or to ever compete with the large corporations and companies. Do some economic research, the U.S. has not had free markets since the 80s and even then it wasn't really free.

  • um why do I know who Heather Graham is again? uh...Bowfinger, wow that sucked, oh yeah Austin Powers 2, ok why should I know who Heather Graham is?

  • GEICO can kiss my ass

  • why did the asian dude get a facial like that ?....LMAO....hilariously random

  • Anybody that doesnt think Heather Graham is a hot piece of ass is fucking stupid

  • Generally I don't condone blanket statements, but in this case I must. She is soooooo hot
