  • it's amazing how they make a small and powerful computer :) although apple sells really expensive they are the best

  • The price for the size and server specs is great but no monitor

  • man too much work. Apple should bring back the Cube but in aluminum

  • i broke the heat sensore connector :( where do i get the new one from? but I managed to attach so it is working now but still i wanna get the new sensor cable lease help :(

  • The sound effect at 38 seconds is very realistic and pops out of my speakers very nice!

  • why apple put speakers on mac mini?

  • Who is the numnah working the transitions?

  • ...so, nobody got the name of the song?

  • @mugroko All their songs are good. I want to know too.

  • Hard Drive looks easy enough to replace. Some places were saying it was going to be a pain.

  • WTF... I was hoping for actual video, not a fucking slideshows.

  • why not just buy a Macbook pro 13" with big monitor?

  • @theartofluv Because you can use two big monitors with the Mini, and it's cheaper than the MBP. However, it's still a bit of a bummer that they notched the price up.

  • The Process to get to the HDD is way more time consuming and dangerous (To the older Mac Mini's) if one of the chips on the board get's damaged the Mac Mini is useless especially to less experienced people! I would rather easier access to HDD then RAM ... RAM's Cheap HDD isn't always...

  • i wonder if the harddrive can be replaced with an ssd. anybody?

  • @burkbukr I don't find what you said here very clear, however does the mini mac only have space for a standard 2.5" HDD. will it take a 1TB HDD? does the HDD connect via SATA cable or is the connection board mounted i.e. so only the right HDD line up and fit in? cheers

  • @aaguirre123- Yes it can be done on a mid-2010 Mac Mini. I did it this weekend. You have to be very careful when disassembling the unit. The Mac works just fine with the SSD.

@rollthetape88 - the Mac mini only has space for a 2.5" (laptop) harddrive. I decided to put a SSD in my mac. I don't beleive there is a 1TB 2.5" SSD on the market...and as for the 1TB 2.5" HDD those are not standard thickness. The only way you are going to get 1TB in this thing is to get the 'server' mini.

  • The price increase is caused by the weakening of the USD against other currencies.

Components made abroad is available sooner, but for a bit more money.

  • @xaraxen If that were true ALL the new reviewed models would be priced higher, but it's just the mini.

  • @masterneme revised not reviewed

  • I feel a bit fucked off that Apple have decided that in order for you to be able to put in an SSD that doesn't cost a 800 quid, you have to have a degree in electronics.

  • yeah it's a little lame and it's expensive but if you want a small media pc that can support 2 monitors (hdmi and displayport) I can see the merit. If they had thrown in a bluray capable drive I'd have one under my tv now probably. if you just want to stream to a tv cheaply, a dedicated media streamer for $100-200 is probably a better option.

  • basically laptop parts in a form of desktop, worst of both worlds; low performance no portability...

  • @Nocturnox65 Clearly it IS portable, compared to a Mac Pro or Imac at least. If I use these in an office it's going to be a hell of a lot easier transporting 15-20 of these in a car than it is carting 15 or 20 mac pros via a haulage company.

  • @Nocturnox65 8 gig ram and dual core 2.66 ghz processor is perfect for teens and kids for their projects an for them to start off using logic and final cut at an early age.. it is also good enough for colleges ... its fine ... and with 8 G ram it'll last for the next 3 years without problems ...stop trollin

  • @Langotriel1 you forgot about the price, somehow macs dont exist outside US and UK, and somehow my PC has better specs for lower price; thx for response anyway

  • @Nocturnox65 the operating system that comes with it is alot better than the windows crappy shit .. and it is what costs extra ... and the computer is tiny ... portable adds too ... the mac mini is a power machine in a tiny space... which i think is genius ... i have one and they are very reliable and handle whatever i throw at them ... why would i want a PC ? pcs are only for gaming. period.

  • @Langotriel1 'windows crappy shit' sounds reasonable... not sure if you are up to date, but windows 7 never crashes, and supports 1000x more software, and even with 'extra cost' it still will be cheaper than a mac. and no mac is real 'power machine' and of course PCs do everything that macs can + more

  • @Nocturnox65 i agree with you, i even have PCs, i have many more than i have macs, and pcs do alot more ... there is alot more variety, however what mac does do, it does better than PC. and the software it has is the best so you dont need the extras. if you have the cash buy mac the price is irrelevant because however much you spend on a PC you will never get the operating system working so well with such good quality software and as smoothly.a fully buffed mac pro is a 'power machine to the MAX'

  • @Langotriel1 well, i have macbook pro, and i dont see any advantage of the mac os x over windows, ANY!. they both do: web, docs, audio/video stuff similrly; exept that on PC you just have much more software to choose from, which deffinetly is an advantage. and your claims that macs do stuff better are unjustified; no example etc

  • @Nocturnox65 first of all, i produce music for example, i have used both pcs and macs for it, using logic and abelton live on mac and pretty much every popular software on PC, apple has made logic to fit perfectly with its macs in both looks and function and if something does ever go wrong with your mac or software you can get it fixed by the same people, everything comes from one place. secondly, software for mac developed by others run alot smoother and looks better on a mac in my experience.

  • @Langotriel1 well, the fact that it all comes in one piece and can be easily replaced isn't necerarily good, you only get one year warranty for a mac, whereas when you build a PC u get ussually over 1 year of warranty for each component, but nothing ussually breaks, at (least in my PCs for last 3 years). Software, on the other hand might be a matter of preference, obviously diffrent people like diffrent stuff, but windows still gives more options.

  • @Nocturnox65 well..easily repaired is good ... why wouldn't it be :P .. but enough ... it seems it's more a difference of taste than actual facts ... but my whole life, mac has always been more reliable than pc's and worked better. i think mac perfected the desktop more than pc's and looks better both in hardware and software. and i don't need choice if i have the money for the best ... technically ..everybody does..it just depends if people choose to use it . if you don't agree... fair enough.

  • @Langotriel1 "it'll last for the next 3 years" what you think money grows on trees? not everyone can buy a new computer every 3 years.

  • @TheShadowTrooper computers, cars and many other things are not built to last more than 3 years.. and in 3 years, the mac mini will probably have 16- 24 gigg memory ram ....so... yh... time for an upgrade... i bought mine 1.5 yrs ago and thinkin of buying a new one.... i dont have more money than the next guy... however... i dont drink smoke or anything else ... they are huge cash consumers.... let them go and within a month... tadaa :D

  • It's a shame they bumped up the price ... other then that it is a nice machine for who ever wants to try a mac ...

  • So did you guys find the gold plate that adds a hundred dollars value?

Jokes aside, I was actually really excited about this upgrade until I realized they bumped the price up.

  • @tipoomaster yeah I agree....Really good now that their is easy access for adding ram....but they should have defaulted the ram to 4 gigs for both models !! that would justify the $699 and make it a good choice...... Shit they just upped the ram on the baseline macbook pro to 4 !

  • what is the name of the song ???

  • @dj1tal yeah, what's music??? thanks!

  • @dj1tal its called "i wanna have sex with you"

  • @dj1tal Gunsolo - Arcadia

  • @dj1tal ya???

  • @dj1tal Conquest of Paradise (Main Theme)

  • Wow. what a amazingly gay computer..

  • I came here to talk about the Mac, and all people are talking about is the music...

  • Music/Song?

  • What is this song?

  • nice job man

  • Nice video, and nice job.

Kind of expensive in spain though.... 779€ WTF?

  • @yamac614 macs are expensive, "but hell you don't get what you pay for :P"

  • So to replace the HDD you must dissasemble the whole thing... Who had this wonderful idea @ Apple ? :D

  • Lol $700 in the US but £649 in the UK... ffs

  • some cheap materials and parts sold for $700.. thats insane..

  • Very nice teardown. What´s that music? I like that, too!

  • i have to say apple has outdone itself!

  • that was fast....!

  • @josephbutch that's wat she said.

  • @qaddodi lOl .. TWSS!

  • Cool video.
