  • I've watched this entire series twice over. Greatest TV show of all time, no doubt. Both times I viewed it in its entirety, I absolutely lost it when this song started. I held my composure during Shane's suicide, and I almost lost it during the final scene with Vic, but stayed strong. As soon as this song kicks in... I can't hold it anymore. (Not so) Manly tears floweth forth. It's the end of an intense, emotional, heartbreaking journey. For me, when this song hits, it's TRULY over.

  • @mescatraz34 Although, watching it on Youtube, without 7 seasons of buildup, its admittedly not as powerful.

  • Very intense finish. Man i watched all 7 seasons in one week but the end scrwes me. Holy cow what a writing job, what an acting job

  • One of the best shows to existence. Absolutely breathtaking throughout all of the seasons. I'm really going to miss this, thank you to Shawn Ryan, Michael Chiklis, Walton Goggins, CCH Pounder and all of the actors for giving me that special feeling of joy every time I watched an episode. Best TV show ever.

  • So, fans of the show, should I start watching? I've been looking for a new show to watch ever since I caught up with "Breaking Bad".

  • @joshman783 In a word...yes.

Then after you've finished all 7 seasons. Go back to episode 1...repeat three of four times.

Then go watch Southland for even more awesome tv cop goodness. :)

  • @usgymnastics2012 Couldn't agree more :D

  • @joshman783 yes but even if you think its just so so keep watching. season 5 just starts to get insane and the ending with stay with you forever

  • Everybody in the world should be forced to watch this show, Amazing!

  • Gonna miss all 972000 seconds of that TV show, ive watched it 3 times over and loved it and made my cry every time. Thats to the best TV show i have ever watched.

  • those 3 dislikes should go fucking kill themselves

  • Who are they shooting at 2:00? Anyone know?

    curtis lemanskys grave

  • @Tirretronox The grave of Lem as a respect thing

  • just bought the entire series on dvd for a bit over $100 after watching it a few years ago...this never gets old!!

  • Just Discovered this show a month ago.

    Finished all 7 Seasons.

This show is amazing, still even from watching it like it was new in 2011. Way better than " Southland " IMO, and obviously like all the corny as shit CSI Shows.

  • @blizzy00 South land and The Shield are two different shows. The Shield studies the moral ambiguity of it's anti hero Vic. While South land shows the LAPD in more realistic light. Basically like social workers. Still both are pretty great.

  • @blizzy00 Yeah, I'm gonna have to beg to differ as well. I hate when people start comparing The Shield, Southland, and The Wire. They're all cop shows, they're all fantastic, but they are all very different with very different tones and styles. (The CSIs and whatnot are shit though)

  • fuckin awesome ilove this show

  • What song is this?

  • @DMDIBBS Yes, people who like The Shield, should definitely try and watch Sons of Anarchy, it takes place in the same universe, the Niners pop up more than a couple of times.

  • Best TV show ever.

  • thx for uploading this video man

and thx for the description, good work.

  • i remember seein this on tv it made me remember how good the show really was u feel me

  • It is wrong that a bloke feels like crying once Lemansky appears at 1.55

  • @GryceBibbs Feel your pain man. It's not wrong imo :p

  • @senilord Feel the same way about scenes in The Departed and Collateral where two of my favourite actors are shot in cold blood.

  • 3 youtube useres are drug dealers... just saying

  • i'm working my way through the whole series (again).. and i can safely say that this is one series that just gets better and better with each viewing....AWESOME...

  • i must agree the ending for the shield was superb and probably the best ending for any tv ever, so many shows manage to fuck up the ending such as Lost, 24 etc but the shield never ever let the viewers down. cheers for the fanatastic writing staff for making a truly special (and criminally underrated) show

  • These credits gave me a much needed smile after the last episode! The entire seventh season was heart wrenching.

  • Best shows on TV

    1. THE SHIELD

    2. Deadwood

    3. The Wire

    4. Sons Of Anarchy

    5. Firefly

  • Its even better when you know that its inspired by a true story

  • Best shows on tv ever...according to ME.

    2. Rescue Me

    3. THE SHIELD

    4. Sons of anarchy

    5. weeds...

1!!! The Sopranos....and yeah well the simpson MUST be on the list..i mean who hasent seen the simpsons?

  • This series wrapped up so perfectly, and I'm not just talking about these wonderful credits. I was practically in tears when this song came on. What a phenomenal seven seasons! It's a rare show that keeps getting better as it goes on.

  • Who are they shooting at 2:00? Anyone know? BTW: Great video, amazing show... will miss it. (once I get finished, on season 3 ep 2 now)

  • @ubudog32 Since you are on Season 3 Episode 2, I recommend you don't look at this page until you've watched all 7 seasons as the answer to your question will ruin it.

  • @usgymnastics2012 Good idea! :P

  • @ubudog32 why are you spoiling it for yourself?

  • @ubudog32 They are shooting on Curtis Lemensky

  • It's funny how similar Tony Soprano and Vic Mackey are, the only real difference is, is one is a cop and one is a crim, and even then, well you all know, that's a very thin line lololol

  • Jon Kavanaugh, Antwon Mitchell and Guardo Lima disliked this video.

  • @FangBangerable I think ronnie would be more inclined to dislike, as Lima is dead lol

  • Probably the best show ever made

  • i just love how it ends, alot of movies show crime and that you get away with it so easy.

  • It's kinda hilarious that the song almost feels like it's addressing to those few crazy Vic fans that were left at the end of the series. Like the ones who thought killing Terry was okay.

  • @sedeyus of course it was okay! snitches always(!) deserve to die. you s.o.b!

  • @ButcherYourMom

Ignoring the fact that Vic ratted out Ronnie?

  • @sedeyus nah i don't, because of this action vic deserves the same fate

  • @sedeyus Yeah, like me. But that's not what the song is about, unfortunately.

  • i miss THE SHIELD, but this way to finish the show is simply gracefully ....

  • The best 2 minutes of my life....thank you the shield

  • @RollingStone1987 it was awesome thxx for this masterpiece

  • Best

    TV

    Show

    Ever.

  • ya know, imo, shane vandrell had one of the best character developements and one of the best stories in all of tv. such a great character, and walton goggins did a fantastic job.

  • Jon Kavanaugh:

"...This guy... this guy is just pissing... he's pissing all over us. He's pissing on you. What does it taste like? Chief, what does it taste like, 'cause you know what, it tastes like piss to me!"

  • I watch a lot of series (Soprano's, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, etc) and even though I love them all, none of them had me so emotionally involved as The Shield. Lem's death, Shane's suicide including his murder of his pregnant wife and child, Kavanaugh losing it ("He's pissing al over us!"), Corrine relocating with Vic's children and finally Vic realizing he lost everything are definitely the most powerful scenes I have ever seen on screen. This montage makes me so sad :(.

  • Your description for this video is great' To me honestly the description is the best part of this video post'

  • the end was the best end to a tv series ever!!!!i can´t stop thinking about it...shane killing his family and himself was just...omg...

  • I actually love the show, but didn't really like the ending , Vic maybe should have been in that building at the end with the lights going off and a final gunshot heard , So many hated him at that point . 2nd at the very end creidits , they should have shown Dutch in a Hawaiian shirt, on his couch , with the arm around the dead woman that he was being set up by the kid, drinking a martini. Dutch had a psychological dark side , they never really did anything with. Best Show Evah !

  • @hemified2000 Yes! I can't believe they never explored Dutch's psychological side

  • Just finished my first run-through of this series last night and it truely is the best show I've ever watched.

Credit to everyone involved and I'll definitely be watching it again.

Someone below mentioned Carine as being the cause of the team's downfall - actually I'd blame Mora. She drove the first wedge between Vic and Shane with pushing him into buying that Lexus for her, split the team with stealing the money train cash for her mother and things just were doomed for the guys from there.

  • One of the best shows if not the best show I've ever watched. The finale was both great and very sad because it was the end of a great great show and for some reason this song fits so very, very well.

  • I think a end credits like this will be really bad on any other show, that I know. But with the shield it works really f**king well!

  • 1:53 when the lyrics say "if that isn't love" and i see Shane walking in-front of Lem,i feel like crying. Serousily, goddamn that's just powerful.

  • I could cry right now, just knowing that's the end.I love this show so much.I've seen every episode of every season at least 5 times. And plan to see them all many many more times.Never get tired of watching "The Shield".

  • I am thinking of diving into this one. I was a big fan of The Wire. Anyone know both series, can tell how they compare?

  • @JeanCocteau777 for Mr the wire was slow and boring, where as the shield had more engaging characters and was brilliantevery episode from start to finish, with excellent writing, directing, production values that unjustly didnt notice when i watched the wire. The wire was trying to be realistic and gritty, whereas the shield just did it. Overall they both have their die hard fans, in my personal opinion. The shield wins out everyday of the week.

  • @JeanCocteau777 wire is good bu the shield can be called the best show EVER! first season mabye is a bit slow but every season is better than the one before. watch it!

  • "Good cop and bad cop left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop". Yes he was!! I was hooked from the 1st episode and watched every one til the end. This is hands down, the best cop drama television has ever aired!!

  • Awsome ending for the best show on television ever made. The ending for Ronnie is too sad :( why didn't he just run away :(

  • That was so well done. It was a depressing final season but it was the harshest reality check for Vic.

  • The Shield is the best television series ever.

  • if i could only favorite one video ever on YouTube, this would be it.

  • la mejore serie de la hsitoria

  • this is so heartwrenching

  • i think i cried watching this scene it was the last day of my summer job i have school in a week and yah

  • i hated that they ended this

  • Good show. Vendrell FTW

  • I agree the Shield is fantastic and I loved the last scene, it actually was the tipping point that made me like it more than the Wire, but the Sopranos ending was fantastic and if you dont like it then you just dont get it im afraid. Sometimes you dont need to be spoon-fed everything

  • @dacochsta You think this is better than 'THE WIRE'? Cool.

  • @dacochsta i agree with u on the spoon feeding regarding the sopranos.in my opinion the wire the shield and the sopranos are the 3 top programmes in the last decade or so.just dont know which one is no 1

  • @dacochsta sopranos is the biggest peice of shit ending ever. wel rigth together with the ending of battlestar galactica. it's not about don't getting what he was trying to do but it sucked! even fucking spielberg said that was a bullshit ending. love the show , one of the best ever but the ending is the worst

  • I always wanted to see a comic showing Ronnie's rise in prison and attempts to get out, with Vic as the secondary character at ICE. Accumilating with Vic and Ronnie banding together againd and finally offing Antwone Mictchel (or perhaps forcing a peace to be made, maybe Antwone is just too untouchable). I'd also like to see Ronnie be seen as this major badass after dropping a couple of big bad hombres sent to kill him. Ronnie always had great skills and if he were cornered..

  • for sure one of the greatest shows of all time. watched it since the first ep on tv and just re watched them all on dvd. just phenomenal.

i gotta say i was with vic all the way til the last episode, but when he fucked ronnie over i really had to accept what a piece of shit he was in the end haha

  • I miss the first few seasons of The Shield, the later ones were just as good, but the beginning ones almost seemed like they were all 10 year olds having fun while trying to get out of trouble. Greatest show ever.

  • Just watched lem die. Again.

  • Saddest ending ever. The Shield will be unforgotten in time

  • Love the show so much, this was a great tribute to it great work!

  • Strike Team Was Here

  • I agree, this is just about as good as tv gets.

  • FX always has these Characters

    Tommy Gavin

    Victor Mackey

    Christian Troy

    Michael "Lucky" Linkletter

All of them the source of everybodys troubles

  • @nflannery59 wait where's Michael linkletter from?

  • @wiiplaya25 do you remember "LUCKY'' back in 2003-2004, about a former poker champ with a gambling problem. It was out there right before The Shield hit season 3.

  • it is one of the greatest tv shows ever without a doubt, up there with the wire, the sopranos and deadwood for me. whittakers performance and glenn close were brilliant. the ensemble cast was great, the writing exceptional. great song.

  • Wow, last time I checked I had like 8000 views now it's 22000, thanks for watching everybody!

  • This was one excellent show. Forrest Whittaker's performance as John Kavanagh was exceptional. I always rated Whittaker as a top actor but the episodes leading up to and including the part when Vic discovers Kavanaghs weak point and Kavanagh goes nuts was some of the best acting I've ever seen.

  • Whats the song please?

  • @mwps99 Long Time Ago by Concrete Blonde. Enjoy!

  • This was the greatest show in the history of television for one simple reason. They never took a single episode lightly or decided to get cute. This show ripped your heart out every week, showed it to you, and kept you coming back for more. Bravo

  • @lxveldhuis Everybody knows The Wire is the greatest show in the history of television

  • the door should have read "shoe"

  • oh man... missed back in the day when it was all simple...busting the one niners and biz lats

  • just finishef the show last nite, felt like gerningmy head off

  • @blabbermouth777 Dude who cares about terry? he was ginger. haha nah im totally kidding, but he was a snitch... still brutal i guess :)

  • I love the shield so much. BEST show EVER :)

    What my "the shield"

  • This is easily the best series finale of all time and one of my favorite shows ever, Lt. Kavanaugh was an unforgettable character.

  • The best ending was the first episode. It is that episode that sets Vic Mackey up as the protagonist and the villian at the same time.

  • I agree buying the DVDs was one of the best investments I ever made

  • awesome

  • Kick ass show

  • Look at the wiki for the shield that will tell you everything you need to know.

  • I just happen to run across this video. I know the name is the shield, but what is the show about? I saw anthony anderson, and forrest whittaker in the clip. who were they in the show? and who was the "HO" that was spraypainted on that door?

  • @101iamlegend In Season 1, it was this fat woman who kept dumping a black guy then getting with this other black guy, then dumping the second black guy and getting back with the other. When she was with one the other would harrass them. After a while, one of the black guys killed the woman and the other guy.

  • @Luketheblade1 Thanks for the info, homey. after I wrote that comment, I rented all 7 seasons, and I'll be a mutha-fucka if that was not the best cop show ever. I watched about 80% of all of the seasons in one sitting. I thought Lt. Kavanaugh was gonna get vics corrupt ass.

  • lem shoulda had a proper 21 gun salute. pretty much everyone in the strike team should when they go out. they were the ones cleaning up the farm when the rest were scheming and conniving to push their asses up the ladder or covering it from a shit storm. shame they got too greedy on the money train

  • top film thinking of watching 24 its going to be hard to beat

  • Ronnie should of been granted immunity:(

  • jp'n yo, love ya yo

  • fuck it, here's to one of the (imo) best shows ever given a chance to breathe: bomb ass song song to out with, bomb ass end, period,...... fuck youtube,.. fuck you BITCH.

  • FX ruined The Shield. Vic would never betray Ronnie.

It is easy to see Ryan finished up the stories in a hurry.

  • I would even consider the las 5 or 6 episodes like almost a seperate part, that became the best ending I have ever seen first of all it was a gret ending, but even more greater was the fact that it was realistic in saying that the Farmington PD will still have problems and challenges even after the show is finished, and even greater was the STRIKE Teams conclussion where it was a very Soppranos like ending in a good way with out the cop out fade to black. Thank you's go outtothe writing staff.

  • just saw the final episode yesterday, and fuckkk, was that a powerful endind..vic mackey was a bad ass motherfucker..He ruined the lives of all of his team mates, like everybody-lem died because of mackey(money train), shane killed him and his family because of vic, and ronnie went to jail because of that fucking bastard...Mackey was a fucking bad person, and it all shows so good at the end..best show ever!

  • I feel sorry for Ronnie... Think about it, Ronney had it worse than anyone else. Armadillo burn his face off, the psycho black man in season 4 gave him a concussion with a crucifix and he turned out to the strongest and most loyal yet he has to go to Prison/Atwon Mitchelleville.

  • The best finale ever...The SHield

  • Yeah, this show has to be the greatest ever. I felt connected with each and every single one of the characters, always wanting to see what happens next. Couldn't wait to watch the next episode after just finishing one. I can't see how anyone wouldn't like this show.

  • The 2nd to last scene with Lem and Shane says so much. That was the beginning of the end when Shane killed Lem.

  • @hokato the beginning of the end was the money train

  • am i the only one who wants to punch Mara and Vics wife in their fucking face all they do is bitch

and at the end i think vic went to break Ronnie out

  • he betrayed ronnie for his familyi wouldve too

  • the song is depressing, a part of me died when the show ended

  • @lingerme1 like im agreeing with you. But the shield isnt a big show down under so i only started watching it on dvd like a month ago. And for a month all i have done is worked and watched the shield so now its ended my to i feel empty. and like wtf do i do now haha

  • @PureAussieGamer I know exactly what you feel. The Shield definitely leaves you feeling like that when it ends. You know what I did, I started watching 'The Wire'. Trust me that is the only show that can lift you out of this gloom. It's not a fast paced show like 'The Shield' but if you want something thats so much more complex and treats the viewer with respect and shows you reality instead of fluff, thats the only show for you. The Wire and The Shield are the two greatest shows of all time.

  • @bioskope Would you reccomend the shield to everyone though? Like, i think its a great series but its so hard on the soul that I would only reccomend it to people who can stomach it. I personally loved the ending from a poetic standpt but it really shocked and saddened me so i also hate it on some level. I know they got what they deserved but hell, did people really want all these characters to get stabbed in the back the way they did?

  • @TheSlothook It couldn't have ended any other way that would have been in keeping with the show's theme--corruption may seem "cool" for awhile, yeah, whatever, but the guys who stick with it die or betray each other.

  • "Long Live The Strike Team"

Vic Mackey was one of the best characters on TV hes right under Agent Mulder from the x files and hes at the very top

  • You know what gets me? I Loved Lem! he was my favorite character and then shane killed him, but in the end i still feel really sorry for shane :'( . Grrr i hate vic maccy! after what he did to ronnie >:(

  • I know exactly what you mean, Lem was alsways the cool guy that if you could be friends with, you would, and Ronnie too, Ronnie was cool, Shane and Vic were a couple of A-Holes, but thats why we liked them lol, Shane was a douche in the beginning then Mara changed him for the better, too bad she was really annoying, and then Vic went really out of control. All in all I feel sorry for Ronnie and Lem the most, they got all the shit from the teams actions, Shane got off easy,Vic got a personal hell

  • @usgymnastics2012 i couldnt agree more i kinda feel ronnie shoulda died and lem got all the shit because he did the least but i did like the ending this is one of my top 5 fav show of all time

  • @usgymnastics2012

Lem, damn. Sorry bro. Ronnie is the one who took it for the team and we all knew someone would have to. Cleetus Van Dam :) ....damn dude. Wow. Vick is vick but the way this thing eded was probably the best ending to a series I have ever seen, ever. Brilliant.

  • @DarkkLady Yeah, Shane and Vic ended up being the biggest PUNKS! Lem and Ronnie were the best!!

  • @DarkkLady After what he did to Ronnie? How bout what he did to Terry. Vic Mackey was the villain and protagonist of the show which is why the show was so brilliant.

  • @DarkkLady Yeah, for each season you saw what Mackey was capable of doing, but always dodged a bullet, but by the end of the second season, his down fate was sealed and himself and everybody close to him weren't going to escape it. Finally when he's cornered he shows you that he was never a hero, but the villain.

  • @DarkkLady Well... I've watched the Shield about 4 times now and ... I know I'm the devils advocate but I kinda blame Vic's wife for everything. Vic only sold Ronnie out because he was afraid the mother of his kids were going to jail while in fact she was playing him. If she was true and Shane would have destroyed the file then he and Ronnie would walk but she was scared by the police, Vic would never, ever! hurt his own family. The Shield will allways have a special place as the best show made.

  • @DarkkLady Shut the fuck up you. If you wanna be pissed at anyone, then these are the people right here: Shane, Mara and Corrine.

  • @thedeparted2006 suck my balls :-)

  • I just finished watching this on saturday and I'm watching back from the start all over again lol

    Long live the Strike Team!!!

  • @usgymnastics2012 yes man. Long live the Strike Team!! Forever

  • The Shield is definitely the best TV show, I've ever watched. I finished watching the last season around a week or two ago, the ending was just perfect. I
