My boyfriend told me a story about his experience about giving a medication without knowing the action of the drug. Then I was about to give the medicine to the patient, the SO ask him "Para san ba 'yan?" sabi niya ng bf ko "para sa anak mo po". sabi nung SO "hindi...para saan 'yang gamot na 'yan." sabi naman niya "sa sakit niya". :)) Magaling na nurse. hahahahaha :)))

I have this RN friend. When she was still studying, she got attached to her patient up to the extent that before the patient died, he (the px) was looking for her. Nagpasalamat yung family nung patient sa kanya.
Ngayon ko lang narealize na hindi lang para umalalay sa pasyente, physically, ang mga nurse. They also comfort every patient lalo na't neglected ng family.
Medyo like ko na ang nursing students ngayon dahil sa'yo Anna. :D (Hindi kasi ako Nursing student e. HAHAHA. Rad Tech ako.)

i watched ds vlog cguro mga 10x na.. pero attached pa rin ako sa #5 reason.. meron rin kc ako nging pt dati case nya was endstage renal failure... pag-alis nya kasi ng ward medjo bibo pa sya.. but nung pagkabalik nya.. madaming tube na tlga ang attached sa knya but slightly open pa ang eyes nya den nagawa pa nyang hawakan ang kamay ko den she slightly squeeze it.. den she tried to smile even may tube pa.. :'(

Hey anna, I just randomly saw your vlog about nursing from one of my classmates in med school, I am also a nurse. I guess all i wanted to say was that we nurses are lucky specially when it comes to med school. Some of my classmates aren't used to the long hours of classes, the smell of the hospital, the medical terms, and of course wearing white (we know we have to be extra careful when wearing all white) and I'm proud that I am a nurse and I hope I can carry that with me always. thats all :)
Nice one Anna! I'm a Filipino too working here in NZ as a nurse. It's so inspiring to watch your vlogs. It's the connection between us and patients that gives us nurses an edge over the doctors. But yeah I agree with you, many of our senior nurses in the Philippines seem to eat their young but not all though. Some doctors in the Philippines too feel like Gods.
After taking ECG, I asked, "Have you got any chest pain?". Patient said, "Define pain." I answered, "Any unpleasant sensation that disrupts your daily functioning." I added, "What is pain then in your own perspective?". He said, "Pain is something that I couldn't tolerate. Otherwise then it's not pain for me." I said, "Have you got any chest discomfort or are you feeling sore right now elsewhere in the body?". He answered, "Yes, a little bit in my chest." Pain is very subjective indeed.
You are such a breath of fresh air. The sound of your voice is so captivating, and the mix of languages is so incredible. Your friends are definitely right about your gift of gab. hey i just catched your video just now, and i believe it was really comedy and very informative as well, i just recently passed my boards as a CNA, now i am just looking for work, and from watching this and even other nursing video's on youtube i am gaining the inspiration to continuing on to becoming a nurse but do i have what it takes? well im not sure lol. CNA training for 1 semester was a great experience during lectures and clinicals, there was some patients that i felt really attached too.

Buong summer alternate every other week ang shift namin lunch time of duty nmin nkbreak ung isa nming kshift s Nursery ako DR ung isa s OR ang ngbnty s 1 newborn s nursery hbng ngkukwen2han kmi iyak ng iyak ung baby kaya sinilip namin ang malupit nito yung baby tulog na tulog pero tuloy pa rin ung iyak hehe ang bilis ng takbo namin palabas ng pinto kahit naka-OR gown pa... unsterile na kaya ang resulta uwi kami ng maaga :-)

haha..i can relate to the long hours of lecture like our competency appraisal class.. 6 hours ka ba namang nakaupo? tapos ung instructor pa nakakaantok pero i can't sleep kasi pagagalitan ka.. e hello binabayaran ka kaya namen para magturo hnd para patulugin kame db?LOL but i love our instructors super gagaling though some CI nakakaasar lalo na kung ung tinuturo nila e hnd lalabas sa quiz.. taz irarason dapat nagaadvance reading kayo..nagturo ka pa db? saya mo,..i love nursing though!:)

Anna's pretty. She has sense of humor, and I like the way she says things - yung tipong may dating. However, I can't seem to relate to what she said that nursing felt like her calling. Kasi for me, no matter how much people tell me not to, I really can't help but regret taking up nursing. I'm a 2nd year nursing student and I still don't know if I really like my course. Para kasing hindi ko pa alam kung ano talagang gusto ko. sobrang nakrelate ako, "WHY NURSING?" yan din tanung ko sa sarili koa t first.,but then..after ilang years eto na yung tanung ko "WHY NOT NURSING?".. Grabe! I was moved by you when you shared your most rewarding experience with your patients especially the gesture of how determined he was just to shake your hand. I was teary-eyed. Perhaps it was because I also had a lot of experiences with patients who are suffering from illnesses and are almost dying. :'( there was a sudden flashbacks! :| Dati I always complain that I am very unlucky to handle such difficult patients but then I learned that it's the best way to expand more of ur learning. :D

long lectures... that's what i like the most... i remember nung lecture namin sa TFN .. super bored... kaya habang naglelecture yung prof. namin sa lessons sa sobrang haba ng oras kung anu ano na gnagawa namin... ehh di naman nya kami pinapansin... nagpipicture picture kami... lettering... fan sign making... at make up sessions... hehe... but luckily.. every exam... although hindi ako nakikinig sa kanya minsan... i always got the highest score... :)) THAT'S WHY I LOVE NURSING :)))

i think this is the best video ever... the most memorable moment when i was doing my prac, was the first time in our first ward rotation, my patient died.. his face got stuck on my head, everytime i blink.... and that was a noc duty...:( still haunts me till now...

hey i just catched your video just now, and i believe it was really comedy and very informative as well, i just recently passed my boards as a CNA, now i am just looking for work, and from watching this and even other nursing video's on youtube i am gaining the inspiration to continuing on to becoming a nurse but do i have what it takes? well im not sure lol. CNA training for 1 semester was a great experience during lectures and clinicals, there was some patients that i felt really attached too.

Ng-volunteer nursing student kmi pra mkump2 ng maaga ung cases. Buong summer alternate every other week ang shift namin lunch time of duty nmin nkbreak ung isa nming kshift s Nursery ako DR ung isa s OR ang ngbnty s 1 newborn s nursery hbng ngkukwen2han kmi iyak ng iyak ung baby kaya sinilip namin ang malupit nito yung baby tulog na tulog pero tuloy pa rin ung iyak hehe ang bilis ng takbo namin palabas ng pinto kahit naka-OR gown pa... unsterile na kaya ang resulta uwi kami ng maaga :-)

yung moment na first time namin mag OR ng mga kagroup ko. then may manganganak the baby was about to expel out then kailangan ng baby oil diba for fast and smooth expulsion. ung c.i nmen told my groupmTE to squeeze the bottle of the baby oil to the head of the baby. alam niyo ginawa ng groupmate ko nilagyan lang nmN niya ng baby oil ung kamay niya sabay pupunasan hahah tawa ng tawa ung midwife. twice nangyari un! :D

Yung moment na, yung nanay ng pasyente matanong. hahaha tapos first time ko pa nun magduty sa pedia,then syempre,ako kinakabahan na memental block ako,tanong pa ng tanong yung nanay, nasagot ko tuloy siya ng"hindi ko po alam" tapos tinawanan ako,that was bad,nasabi ko na hindi ko alam kahit na alam ko. hahaha. haha..i can relate to the long hours of lecture like our competency appraisal class.. 6 hours ka ba namang nakaupo? tapos ung instructor pa nakakaantok pero i can't sleep kasi pagagalitan ka.. e hello binabayaran ka kaya namen para magturo hnd para patulugin kame db?LOL but i love our instructors super gagaling though some CI nakakaasar lalo na kung ung tinuturo nila e hnd lalabas sa quiz.. taz irarason dapat nagaadvance reading kayo..nagturo ka pa db? saya mo,..i love nursing though!:)

I was assigned in the delivery room and suddenly yung pasyente manganganak na. So inassisst ko yun CI ko, then nadeliver yung baby. hinihintay ko si placenta then laking gulat ko nang KINUHA NG CI KO YUNG KAMAY KO TAPOS IPINASOK SA LOOB NG VAGINA. haha Para daw malaman ko kung may natirang fragments pa sa loob. ang awkward kasi nag eye to eye contact kami ni ptx haha

Ganda nang curriculum nyo noon noh? 4 hours lang yung Fundamentals.
Kami last year, 1st year pa lang, Fundamentals na kaagad.. 10 hours pa.
We'd start 7 in the morning until 12pm, lunch break and then balik kaagad 1pm hanggang 6pm na. Thank heavens for the bladder breaks.

Anna's pretty. She has sense of humor, and I like the way she says things - yung tipong may dating. However, I can't seem to relate to what she said that nursing felt like her calling. Kasi for me, no matter how much people tell me not to, I really can't help but regret taking up nursing. I'm a 2nd year nursing student and I still don't know if I really like my course. Para kasing hindi ko pa alam kung ano talagang gusto ko. Pero after watching your video, parang medyo naliwanagan ako. Nakaka-relate po ako sa lahat ng sinabi niyo. MAHIRAP pero MASAYA maging SN, pero mas masaya pag RN ka na. Sana matapos ko 'tong course na 'to. At sana by that time, madali lang makahanap ng trabaho (HAHA LOL I wish) Wala namang imposible. Pana-panahon lang 'yan 'di ba? =)) WONDERFUL VIDEO. :D

sobrang nakrelate ako, "WHY NURSING?" yan din tanung ko sa sarili koa t first.,but then..after ilang years eto na yung tanung ko "WHY NOT NURSING?".. Nursing is really a noble profession, and di masasabi ng ibang tao kung ganu kasaya or kasarap sa pakiramdam yung nakakatulong ka tao/patient unless they experience it themselves :D Go nurses ! Grabe! I was moved by you when you shared your most rewarding experience with your patients especially the gesture of how determined he was just to shake your hand. I was teary-eyed. Perhaps it was because I also had a lot of experiences with patients who are suffering from illnesses and are almost dying. :'( there was a sudden flashbacks! :| Dati I always complain that I am very unlucky to handle such difficult patients but then I learned that it's the best way to expand more of ur learning. :D

funny experience...i have this groupmate who's assisting in dr...nahulog nia accidentally ang episiotomy scissors...sa bigla nia nilagay nia ule sa tray...pinulot nia kaya nagreact ung CI and dr...nahulog ule and she did the same thing...nagtawanan na lang tuloy ung mga dr and nurses...buti na lang mababait sila...iba nagagawa pag kinakabahan...hehe...

long lectures... that's what i like the most... i remember nung lecture namin sa TFN .. super bored... kaya habang naglelecture yung prof. namin sa lessons sa sobrang haba ng oras kung anu ano na gnagawa namin... ehh di naman nya kami pinapansin... nagpipicture picture kami... lettering... fan sign making... at make up sessions... hehe... but luckily.. every exam... although hindi ako nakikinig sa kanya minsan... i always got the highest score... :)) THAT'S WHY I LOVE NURSING :)))

i think this is the best video ever... the most memorable moment when i was doing my prac, was the first time in our first ward rotation, my patient died.. his face got stuck on my head, everytime i blink.... and that was a noc duty...:( still haunts me till now...
