The Diodes are on tour Nov, 2011. Nov 15, Waterloo (Starlight), Nov 17 Toronto (Horseshoe), Nov 18 London (Call The Office), Nov 19 Hamilton (This Aint Hollywood)
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!
Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!
If you can make it to Burlington, the show at the Sound Of Music Festival is an outdoor free show. The band plays after the Barrettas and before the New York Dolls.
Liked the way the guitarest kinda screwed up at one point; I used to do that on occasion in the punk band I was in in PTBO. (Ok more than occasionally). Thank you gentlemen for great music and great memories. Looking forward to seeing you in Waterloo!
@DRJRamone man i was so exciting hearing they are coming to waterloo, but im pissed off its not all ages..im only 15, i guess thats what sucks about being newschool
Gem of a song. Ranks up there with "Take the skinheads bowling". Heard it first and often on the old Spirit of Radio CFNY with David Marsden, Ivor Hamilton, Pete and Geets and that gang in the mid 70s out of Brampton Ontario.
I first heard this song on a sampler cassette that Cargo Records sent out with orders in the early 90's. It must have been a cover version, though, as I hadn't heard of the Diodes before now. I've been wondering who wrote this song for over fifteen years now. It's pretty exciting to finally find it! Thanks for posting!
I don't have words for how happy I am to find this. I saw this when it originally aired, fell in love with the song instantly, taped a rebroadcast of Punk 76-79 that was great but didn't have this whole video. I've been seeking this live version of Tired of Waking Up Tired since. That's what 15 years? The clip of the Dishrags is amazing too, but this made my week.
A Strat? I always think of Catto with a Les Paul.

These guys opened for U2 at the Maple Leaf Ballroom in Toronto in NOV. 80, great show. U2 only knew 12 songs and did "I will follow" twice.

Too bad the studio version is nowhere to be seen on youtube - at least not from Canada. Probably a copyright thing.
