  • my guppies would eat that shit

  • fuck you

  • Please don't keep parrots. They are deformed fish artificially developed by the men in the business. They have a very painful lifestyle while they survive. They can't even close their mouth. They are often mutilated to give them specific shapes. Also they are injected with dyes to give them the extra color (blue, purple, pink, green, etc etc)

  • @arpankar parrots are hybrid fish that sometimes are dyed for colors some are just normal without being dyed

  • Mr. Blood parrots wanna switch lives?

  • that tank looks to small for such big fish

  • how big is the biggest and smallest one

  • i have a newly setup 55 and both my parrots breath heavly,my other fish don't do it as bad,but they are young and the ammonia is 0.25-0.30 so yeah...

  • Will my parrot become more frindly because he alys hides when he sees me but he is nice to the other fish.

  • So what keeps your's so friendly? My parrot despises any other fish except my 11 inch pacu.

  • @ImCaptainjackass The first two were raised together, and sort of bonded I guess. They actually trained some of the more aggressive ones to be calmer.

  • Really like your parrot fish, I have 4 and they are really chilled out...

  • These fish are sooo cute !

  • how big is that tank. plus Parrot cichlids are cool not gay

  • It's make's me sad

  • That wasn't nice. I think these are great fish and they are not glorified goldfish.

  • i agree I have one and find it has a great personality (for a fish) I know its a hybrid and its disliked because of this but its not likely to ever disappear now. I suppose it will eventually become a sub species

  • You are a gay fish.

  • the more and more videos i see of these the less i want some they are basically just glorified goldfish

  • Why do you say that? They are much smarter than goldfish for starters.

  • Nice parrots. :) How many are there? I have three and I just love their personality.

  • Comment removed

  • cus there born like that they use their throats to chew

  • hey! i have a problem, i just bought a new parrot cichlid yeaterday and when i put him in the tank he went to the back to hide casue i read that they get shy, but i went downstairs to eat and when i came back to the tank, he was lying on his side and hes staying behiend this log i have??!!! wat should i do??

  • wait a couple of weeks/ months don't worry!

  • I have these fish in a 72 gallon bow front tank. They love the strawberry clay pots to swim in and out of them.

  • wicked! :) good job!

  • WOW, those are really impressive! I hope mine get that big XD Check out my video of them if you get the chance!

  • wow, your fish are GORGEOUS!!!! I have five of these awesome fish, the oldest is about five and the youngest is about three. The colors on yours are incredible... mine are all just BRIGHT orange/red.

  • Hey Ellen this is me parrotmoo a member from ur website, old winston looking fat and cute as always! If u hav time come take a look at my video!

  • Hi, I sure will! Thanks for dropping by.

  • I used to have three of these, all orange, and i notice that they are a lot "Fatter" (or "chubbier in the face") than the other fish in the tank. When i had these, all three of them were squashed up in the corner sideways, just looking out of the glass. No matter what kind of acrobat I do to try to distract them, they just sit there. They only ever move rarely, but they are definately not sick.

  • no they dont need to live in pairs my on was on its own for two years iv since put other fish with it took some trial and error as they tend to eat smaller fish

  • Do any of yours have a white hole disease looking thing? I only have 3 because one died and I heard they have to survive in pairs and the one with the disease is lonely is what I'm guessing. Can this be why it has that white disease thing?

  • are the blak spots like little dots of all just on ecolor cuz mine has black dots and idk if its normal

  • people have different ideas on this, but here is mine. Parrot cichlids start out life as gray and black striped, changing color to orange or yellow/orange. The black pigment comes back at times, sometimes even in their eyes. After a few years it stops showing up. Some think this has to do with water quality. I'm not sure of that. 2 of the fish in this video never completed the color change. My opinion = If the black spots are flat, and there is no other health issue, I would not worry.

  • Has anyone seen the Hybrid Blood Parrott variety? They dont have a tail & the body is like a sideways heart with the upper and lower fins meeting where the tail should be. I used to have 2 a few years back but gave them away to a local aquarium................ And yes i know they are already a hybrid so they were a hybrid hybrid i suppose. Looked pretty cool though. Does anyone have a video of these types of parrot???

  • That mutation is not due to breeding-- they cut their tails off while they're young to give them that heart shape. It's very cruel actually.

  • i got six myself wonderful fish to sit and watch every time i go up to the tank they all come out. i got one in my tank that has the red devil in him he king of the big castle i have in the tank.

  • Those red/orange ones are beauties. I've seen some at petsmart that look similar. When they look that brilliant do think that they may be died?

  • No, these are the real colors. Some of them are 6 or 7 years old now, and have not lost their color at all. Think of red devils or red-headed cichlids - they are also bright orange/red, naturally.

  • Mine actually started out totally black, with a white belly, and then -eventually- turned all this color. The best thing? I got him from Petsmart & only paid the price for a "regular" Cichlid. w00t!

  • Not very. In fact the older ones actually teach the younger ones NOT to be aggressive. For example, one of them is a young King Kong parrot cichlid who started out very aggressive. But after a few days in the tank, he would stop mid-chase to watch the others interacting. Now he rarely chases anyone.

  • Uhmmm...mine is pretty damn aggressive. He has killed a Dragon Eel, several Danios...but then again, he's the only 1 I've got. Maybe that's just "how he was raised". ;-)

  • heh, we could have a long nature vs. nurture discussion. They all seem to have their own little personalities. Perhaps it also depends on how usable their mouth is for biting!

  • This is a 90 gallon tank.

  • How big is your tank??

  • aw they're so cute!
