Soft reset - ALL nintendo portable have this. On gameboy series, press A+B+START+SELECT and you're done. Is much used in glitching, like Pokemon G/S/C's cloning glitch.

Most Gameboys can be rebooted if you press A+B+Start+Select, correct? Of course that didn't work on some games like Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, but still... that might explain what's going on.

That's actually built into each game, and doesn't reboot to the Game Boy logo. In fact it's not even supposed to be possible to access the boot program once it's finished, so this has to be some internal problem.

This happened to me on several occasions (OIkay, a few, but who's counting?) If you have a game inserted (Which is how it happened to me,) Try cleaning the cart with warm water. No soap, 'cause you're not trying to clean your baby brother! (they tell you NOT TO USE ALCAHOL for a reason!)

I was just playing around with my GBC and it started to reboot over and over. My camera happended to be there so I decided to record it. Also, have any of your games' batteries run out yet? My Mario Golf likes to sometimes to sometimes delete save data and then it'll come back later and erase the new files I had started. Pokemon Red does the same thing.
