  • I'm 22 and I stutter:) my dad also stutters as well and I believe it is genetic. I got therapy when I was young but I still stutter today:) I wouldn't worry most preschoolers grow out of it:)

  • It is possible she inherited it. Stuttering is thought to be an inherited trait. I can relate to both your children. At 21 years of age, I'm autistic and I stutter. I also never had speech therapy because I never got an official diagnosis until two years ago. So even at 21, I still stutter. It's good she's getting speech therapy.

  • @mustang19898 Thank you for your comment. ;) It's getting even worse now but she starts school and therapy in two weeks. She's only 3 so I'm hopeful that it will cure it since we are catching it when she is so young. I never had speech therapy either. I do not stutter badly but enough to where it is noticeable and embarrassing.

  • @sweetfacesofautism Me too. Sometimes people laugh and joke about it. I've learned to ignore them.
